i agree na mas maganda ang innova in terms of ride comfort and engine technology. ang problema kse 728k is too much for a basic unit. (no power, no mags, 2 speakers). yung adv glx which is 40K cheaper already has mags, 4 speakers and at least power mirror. also IMO, parang weird and over-all look ng innova. parang kotse na pinahaba na pinataas. especially yung j and e model. ang pangit tingnan pag wala yung side mouldings. parang mas ok ang look ng adventure especially the 2005 look.

    Huwaaaat?

O, pati GLX meron nang power mirrors?! Dati wala ah.

also IMO, parang weird and over-all look ng innova. parang kotse na pinahaba na pinataas.
I have a worse description: it's a dugong -- on wheels. Although you have to admit, it's got better aerodynamics.

parang mas ok ang look ng adventure especially the 2005 look.
Sabi naman ng iba, parang insekto daw.

but I must admit, maganda ang interior ng innova kahit j model lang. but again, over-all value for money, i think mas ok ang adventure glx for those who have limited budget like me.

nga pala, may isa pa akong tanong. OK bang ipalit na bagong tires and wheels for an Adventure GLS Sport 2003 ang may ganitong specs:

    wheels: 16"x7" 5 holes PCD 114.3 offset 40
    tires: 215/60R16

di ba lalampas sa fenders yung bagong tire and wheel combo ko? insights please, anyone? thanks!

Imo, 7" width is too wide for 215mm tire tread, 6" width would square the treads off. Plus your limiting factor is the PCD 114.3, wheel makers often set their design to -10mm. 4 & 6 stud patterns have more options for offset measurements.

Your best bet is to visit any tire wheel dealer and have your ideal tire/wheel combo measured and fitted. Do take note of your rear fender flares, too wide and it would scrub the tires when fully loaded.

ah ok.. i already have a particular set of wheels in mind that i want to buy.. so is it a good idea to first buy that set of wheels then inquire at any tire wheel dealer what particular tire size will fit into the wheel i bought?

dude, i looked into the 1010tires.com website. The tire size calculator tells me that the 215/60R16 tires can be fitted to wheels with rim widths ranging from 5.5-8.5 in. Besides, 215mm is more or less equal to 8.5in, so there would be approximately 1.5in difference between the tread width of the tire and the rim width of the wheel if i'm gonna use wheels with 7" rim width. correct me if i'm wrong, though. thanks!

You don't have to buy the wheels if you're not sure with the sizes yet. Often than not, these shops offer free testing if your specified sizes would fit the arches and steering limits.

The 215mm tire width is smaller than actual size, so its no use calculating upto the exact decimal. Based from your computation 1.5in. difference will have to be divided into 2 sides giving you an allowance of 0.75in. on rim lip. In reality, that 0.75in. measurement might just be close to 0.25in. too close to call, you might end up with a damaged rim lip, if you accidentally happen to hit a gutter or big potholes.

    It's your call...

oh i see.. so what would be the minimum recommended tread width for a 7" rim width? kasi ang alam ko for X-trails yung tread width ng stock tires is 215mm tapos with a rim width of 6.5" for the wheel.

Stock SUV rims sport 7" widths that has 265 rubbers, this would make the tire look donut on its sidewalls. Troopers also use 7" widths with 245 rubbers, difference is +/-20mm.

Defenders use 6" widths with 215 rubbers as stock. Check out tire specs & pictures on motioncars.com to see their differences.

oo, yung glx with power mirror na. yung gls naman, 4-spoke steering wheel na rin. "likot" said that the gls is just 55k more. That's why tinatonong ko kung sino dealer nya. IMO, good buy na ang GLS kung ganun kse all power na. yung current dealer ko, willing to give the glx for 680k. hopefully, I get a good deal with likot's dealer.

    likot, nag-email ako sayo.... thanks.
