The 215mm tire width is smaller than actual size, so its no use calculating upto the exact decimal. Based from your computation 1.5in. difference will have to be divided into 2 sides giving you an allowance of 0.75in. on rim lip. In reality, that 0.75in. measurement might just be close to 0.25in. too close to call, you might end up with a damaged rim lip, if you accidentally happen to hit a gutter or big potholes.
It's your call...

Stock SUV rims sport 7" widths that has 265 rubbers, this would make the tire look donut on its sidewalls. Troopers also use 7" widths with 245 rubbers, difference is +/-20mm.
Defenders use 6" widths with 215 rubbers as stock. Check out tire specs & pictures on motioncars.com to see their differences.

August 4th, 2005 10:24 AM #86oo, yung glx with power mirror na. yung gls naman, 4-spoke steering wheel na rin. "likot" said that the gls is just 55k more. That's why tinatonong ko kung sino dealer nya. IMO, good buy na ang GLS kung ganun kse all power na. yung current dealer ko, willing to give the glx for 680k. hopefully, I get a good deal with likot's dealer.
likot, nag-email ako sayo.... thanks.

August 12th, 2005 11:08 AM #89likot, thanks for the help.
all dealers are giving me the same deal. 775k cash on gls sport gas M/T. This is quite a very good deal already. Now, it's up to me kung saan ako kukuha. Baka sa Dasma cavite na lang kse pinakamalapit for me. But in fairness to your dealer, she was such a nice person and very attentive to your questions and requests. Will definitely recommend her as agent for future buyers.
