bro, sent you a pm but i think your mailbox has exceed quota. anyway musta na yun general grabber aw tires mo, ok pa ba upod nya? hindi naman maingay sa highway? can you recommend this tire to us? i need to replace my ageing michelin tires (makapal pa naman but 10 years na e) but tipid mode uli ako.

i read in the previous board na 10t per set of four yun kuha mo, kindly pm where you bought it and their contact numbers.

Bro, hindi ko lam kung meron ka pang makukuha ka pang General Grabber na tire so maski maganda yung performance niya ay wala din.

Old na nga yung tires mo, check mo yung FAQ ng General Tire sa tire expiration. Hindi sila buy the expiration as long as yung tire was used properly at walang crack/micro crack. They just go with the industry standard thus the expiration.

sir share ko lang experience ko with the life span of tires. bought my FM bnew 2002, never used the spare tire, so talagang bago siya. decided to use it 2009(7yrs bnew unused)and paired it with a new one(para sa front tires). 3 mos lang, bumigay. sobra hinayang ako as in bago pa siya kung tutuusin eh. kaya since then medyo allergic nako sa age ng tires. good thing wala sa byahe nung bumigay, city driving lang na traffic, so rolling rolling lang. kung sa expessway ako inabot, delikado

Goma kasi yan. Parang lumang rubber shoes. After a while, the rubber gets brittle and starts to disintegrate.

if on a tight budget maganda ring makatyempo ng mga pinagpalitan ng fortuner/montero na sariwa pa... kahit sa 5th tire lang pwede na... pero yung ibang binebenta kasi galing sa donut gang eh...

regarding naman sa spare tire, since sa actual use ko eh talagang lumalabas na pang emergency lang, kahit luma eh pwede na. yung sa FM ko nga 2002-2009 ni hindi gumulong yung spare tire, considering i am averaging 35000kms a year, medyo sayang kung bibilhan ko pa ng bago. plus sa tire rotation, hindi magulo since 4 lang yung nag iikutan. yung 2011 MS ko nga binenta ko agad yung spare tire as bnew, replaced it with an old one, kasi nga naexperience ko nasira lang ng hindi nagamit.

guys you can try decoding your date of manufacture using this DOT example from my michelin:

DOT FKJC FLTX 3002

3002 - means it was manufactured 30th week of year 2002
X - michelin
FLT - company optional code
JC - tire size code
FK - means the tire was made in france facility
DOT - u.s. dept of transportation

likewise, DOT codes usually have 10 to 12 characters or numbers at the tire sidewall. if you get less than this, the true DOT code will be at the other side of the tire.

madami po ako nakikita gen2 below 500t.. downside lang ng gen2 is.. mahina po makina.. only 4d56 but kahit mahina.. fuel effiecient naman and napakamura ng piyesa since madami sa piyesa nila shared sa L300..
it is very reliable as well.. nakikita ko lang problem.. na mahirap ayusin at reoccuring is yung heat plugs which is.. palagay ko ganun din naman sa jdm at fm..
well ofcourse gen2 vs fm.. fm gusto ko:D hehe specially sana kung 4wheel drive.. hehe hindi naman nagagamit 4wd sa city pero masarap din yung alam mong andyan lang siya incase kailangan mo.. hehehe
paalala din po... mga year model ng jdm.. madalas po hindi totoo... at napapabata ng nagparating ng ilang taon... malalaman po real manufacturing date ng sasakyan sa seatbelt tags...
example local gen2 is 1995 to 1998 jdm is 1991 to 1997
local fm is 1999 to 2008 jdm is 1998 to 1999

btw binaba na transmission ng gen2 namin.. hehe durog durog nanga release bearing.. hehe buti nalang daw pinagawa agad.. dahil pag pinabayaan daw... dadamay padaw ng ibang piyesa..

replaced clutch disc, pressure plate, some supports and the release bearing nadin since matrabaho magbaba ng transmission..
got daiken exedy brand and ntn bearings

sana those are good brands.. hehe didnt have time to research.. since naka baba na yung transmission..

also yung replacement ng tps sensor kasi putol yung wires sa sensor mismo and adjustment ng kickdown cable i followed the distance on manual pero delayed or hirap mag 100km/h needs 3k rev para sumampa dun if not 80km/h lang max around 2.5k rev

guys may nakapagkabit na ba sa inyo ng "no drill" parkng sensors? sabi ng iba kasi hindi daw pwede sa atin kasi metal daw bumpers natin. meron namang nagsasabi na mas pwede daw kasi yun buong bumper na mismo ang magiging sensor nya? (the sensor antenna is attached directly to the bumber via adhesive)

or sa "drilled" sensors na lang talaga bagsak natin?
