Have your battery checked. Kung ok pa check your alternator baka palitin na ang brushes.

Your starter might need cleaning na din.

Hi mga co-itlogers,
seeking for advise po.. mine is gli-96, nag-overheat sya last sunday, my naputol na hose, pag-stop ko, namatay engine, overheat n pala.. nagpa-compression test me ngyn, results are 150,180,180,90.. general overhaul daw as per mechanic.. estimate is 25-35k dpende kung my tama liner or ok p piston, i-back to normal/std daw, big money... are the results calls for general overhaul talaga at ganun tlaga kmahal ng gen. overhaul? pwede ko p kaya gamitin to or anytime pwede n sya tumirik? tnx in advance sa mga advisers..

does the car still run smoothly? no smoke? will it pass emissions test?
if yes, i suggest you just keep using it.
just because the engine overheated, does not mean an overhaul is necessary.. for all you know, matagal nang ganyan ang compression values mo...

tama si dr. d. make sure lang na may sapat tubig ang radiator at silipin mo rin kung umiikot ang tubig sa loob nito. kung ako sayo, medyo babaan mo na lang ang rev mo bago mag shift. malay mo tumagal pa yan.

Dati nasira din 4G13 engine ko sa overheat. 35k din quotation sa akin. Ako na lang nag diy rebuild ng 4G13 engine ko. Total of 12k lang nagastos ko at nagkaroon pa ako ng mag tools.

Isipin mo lang ang gastos sa machine ay 4k lang .

Hanap ka uli ng iba mechanic at silipin mo rin yun liner kung may lubog na sa portion kung saan titigil ang piston ring at doon mag fire yun spark plug. Doon magkaroon ng lubog at singaw.
