September 3rd, 2009 05:08 PM #222*guy & JJGF --Watch out & try to fly here in Malysia for the 3rd round of AAM 4x4 rally & check / watch Lim Seng's 2.5L Triton on production platform competing against highly modified D-Max & other brands.
On second round, Lim damaged his Triton rear suspension because he was hit by Mei's D-Max that made him out of the race. Take note, Lim won the first round.
Steering issue of the Strada--Poland has recalled Thai-built L200 up to June 2007 because of steering glitch. There are a few owners as well in Pinas complaints.
You're only less fortunate guy to have your Monty.

I want your thoughts too mark. i amgoing to the mountanous region of Kalinga (municipality of Balbalan, Kalinga province). Yhe road is rough but not rugged with rocks. Maybe with deep muds only. Will my Montero GLS SE take the plunge? I need your advise. Thanks...

September 6th, 2009 11:55 PM #228Sir, we have the same problem which i posted here 2 months ago. I think its in page 5 not so sure.I thought it was just dirt or some metal that got in between the pad and brakedisc. But the screeching was getting worse until when i was in my 10K pms that i noticed that the brakedisc has already an irregular wear. Meaning the brakedisc wear is not smooth. After my complaint and some time and documentation, the casa change the brakedisc and brakepad with new ones all OEM, left and right that is. At about 2k kms since they changed it, the screeching sound was minimal but the wear on the brakedisc is again getting rough, the casa observed that the brakepad (Brand is tokiko) is the culprit since it has several chippings specially on the middle of the brakepad. For the meantime, since they are checking what brake pad is compatible, i'm using a replacement brakepad, I think the brand is rspec. I kept the replaced tokiko brakepad for future exhibit.I'm wondering if the bendex brand of brakepad is good enough at Php 2800 a set. i hope gave you some insight re this issue.

for his thought sharing its good that I heard that there are lot of issues about montero, We already sell our 95 strada and looking for a replacement maybe next year. My choices include 4x2 CRv and Montero 4x4 2.5 MT.
easyman- regarding your trip I think YEs, ur montero can go back home because u have a LSD coz you are using GLS SE, its good if your vehicle is equipped with one.
you will be great when u pass the unveven muddy road , HAPPY TRIP =)
