    Hataw agad, high speed run as possible, wag i-stay sa certain speed...

    avoid ang hard-launch, and over-rev,

    saka important to idle first the engine during warm up, para hindi ma-pwersa ang makina...(to circulate the engine oil and stabilized, and yung fuel/air mixture ay maging balance
    after warm up, kahit itakbo agad ng 120KMS....no problem

    What do you mean by not over-revving? Hehehe kanina kasi sir may taxi na napakabagal sa harap ko. Naka 2nd gear ako tpos tinapakan ko silinyador umabot halos 3.8krpm. Na over rev ko ata si monty i think what you mean by over-revving is red lining hehhe(for peace of mind lang) whaha

    Basta huwag mo ibababad na mataaa rpm, ilipat mo agad sa mataas na gear. Hinde naman taxi or jeep yan, heheh tsaka dinig mo naman sa makina yan once over rev ka.

    Tsaka add ko pala, sakin ha hinde na ako tumitingin sa rpm nang dashboard ramdam mo naman kung need mag downshift at upshift ka. . .

    Chief abramos, ang shifting ko sa akin kapag within 2K-2.5k rpm sa 2nd,3rd & 4th gear, pero ang na notice ko kpag nasa 4th gear na, aabot ako hanggang 3K rpm before mag shift to 5th gear kasi ang feel ko sa engine, malata pa masyado kapag nag early shift ako to 5th gear.

    Parang yung 4th gear ng montero high speed gear na. Tama ba ang analysis ko mga expert tsikoters?

    Yes sir ganun nga po shifting ko. 2-3k lang. Pero kanina kasi nainis talaga ko sa taxi driver, open highway kasi sir pero 20km/hr lang ata takbo. Kaya medyo napa sprint si monty. Mula 20km/hr naging 70km/hr in 2nd gear hehe

    best rpm na po ang 2000-2500RPM for shifting, (2nd-3rd-4th) going to 5th, at least nasa 80KPH above, pwede na, kasi sa 100KPH, nasa 2000RPM kung nasa 5th, lagpas 2K naman kung sa 4th, near 120 na kayo kasi ang max speed ng 4th is 135KPH..

    ok lang po yan sir abramos,

    di talaga maiiwasan mag-overtake lalo kung yung nasa harap nyo ay patulog tulog, or busy sa paghawak ng cp habang nagmamaneho...

    nangyari na rin po sa akin, yung araw mismo na kinuha namin yung unit, umabot sa 4000RPM in first gear, para makapag-break away sa traffic....

    as long as na hindi redline, safe naman ang operations ng engine, yun lang, the higher the RPM, mas malakas na syempre yung consumption ng fuel, saka kahit mag-top speed ang monty, hindi naman aabot ng redline..(not unless kung heavily modified)

    at least mga 2300RPM for cruising speed (120KPH* 5th) no problem yan... pero pasok lang nga sa severe usage, (change oil every 5000KMS) kung 100KPH naman * 2000RPM, fuel efficient at nasa normal usage (every 10,000kms change oil)

    depende sa driving style, kung economical type ba or performance driving...hehehe


    Pag VGT kasi, ramdam talaga ang turbo lag sa low gear, kung sa high gear naman, kung ipapasok sa 5th gear at 60KPH, nasa 1100RPM lang, ramdam ang lag, kailangan pag nasa 5th gear dapat ang takbo is around 85KPH above,

    pag dating ng 85KPH, kaya na ng 5th gear accelerate ng 100KPH in a short period.

    kung sa non-VGT, kaya na mag-5th sa 60KPH.....and problem lang sa non-vgt, from 80 to 100kph, medyo delay lang yung acceleration dahil sa lag, para iwas sa lag, paabutin talaga ng at least 100KPH sa 4th before shift sa 5th para ramdam yung acceleration.

    sa interior at engine, punas punas lang. pwede din yung gaya ng armour all protectant na pwede sa leather, plastics, rubber. check mo sa diy shop o ace, meron mga pang interior at dressing ng engine. if you want a clean engine na parang bago, pwede ka magpa-engine wash at engine detail o DIY mo kung marunong ka ;)

    Hi! I've been looking for a 7 seater SUV for the family and the Montero is on my list. Although, minsan lang naman yung need for 7 seats it's good na at least pag kailangan meron na. My daily mileage is very low around 10 Km and right now my current car is 4 yrs but with 17K Km only on the odometer. Would you still recommend the diesel variant or you think the gas variant is a better option over-all? thanks!

    Go for the gas variant since 10km lang naman yung biyahe mo. Iwas problema sa usok din.

    thanks! actually ang impression ko mas maraming kailangan i-maintain pag diesel na turbo like yung EGR, etc.. and parang di ko rin ma take advantage yung murang diesel kasi ang baba ng mileage ko.

    In GLS variant, pareho lang naman features ni diesel and gas right?

    Yup, same lang yung features nun. Okay pa gas kasi hindi maingay. Actually medyo malakas din sa consumption ko sa GLS-V pag sobrang traffic, nasa 6.5km/l lang ako kasi makati traffic.

    sir monty_GTV, MT po yung amin, yung lag, experienced kung early shift in low speed, kung dadaan sa humps, from 2nd gear, kailangan pa ibaba ulit sa 1st gear, unlike sa non-vgt, kahit hindi na ibaba sa 1st gear, kaya na tumakbo,

    to compensate it, medyo mabigat lang ang application sa gas pedal, from 1st, to 2nd, then sa 3rd gear, basta sufficient na ang speed, walang lag, 4th and 5th, kahit mababa na yung RPM, smooth acceleration na,

    not sure sa AT, never pa ako nakapag-drive ng AT for monty/strada

    kung daily usage, mas preferred ang diesel, kung talagang bihira naman gamitin, gas variant, yun lang V6, pero hindi complicated ang maintenance unlike sa diesel, medyo sensitive, ok din ang diesel dahil sa FC, basta tamang alaga lang po sa maintenance, hindi naman basta-basta masisira,

    yung recent car namin is 10yrs old na and for 70,000KMS PMS, 16KMS ang distance driving and once a week lang ginagamit, nadadagan lang ng extra KMS dahil sa mga business appointment or deliveries ng docs, kaya kumuha rin kami ng monty for upgrade and business purposes, and diesel ang kinuha namin, para sa mga appointment sa malalayong lugar..

    mas fuel efficient kasi ang monty pag dating sa long distance...

    since sa inyo po is 17K KMS sa recent car, and average kayo ng 5000KMS a year,

    at least makapag-change oil once a year, hindi na masisira yung sasakyan,

    lalo na kung low mileage....kung dalawang sasakyan, 2500KMS ang takbo ng bawat isa....medyo challenging kung paano paabutin ng mataas na KMS...hehehe

    Sir playplugg and karag-karag salamat sa mga inputs. ako din byahe ko daily manda<->makati kaya traffic talaga. I guess better option for me yung gas variant kasi ayaw ko din yung medyo complicated na maintenance unlike sa gas medyo kabisado ko na yung maintenance. Sa long drive siguro naman makaka atleast 10-12 Km/L naman ako sa gas variant. What do you think? thanks!
