Truth is, no amount of papers will be honored by traffic police if they are implementing the no plate no travel policy strictly. But, LTO also recognises their current situation so they are "suppose" to be a bit lenient on its implementation. Ang problema na lang ay kung sino ang nanghuhuli and the convincing power of the one being apprehended, and most of the time a hundred pesos still goes a long way.

Choice of diesels shouldn't be a problem. The Big Three oil companies are still using EURO 2 standards in their diesel refining process.

i have been using either petron diesel max or shell regular diesel since day 1 only because i'm a cheapskate. why will i spend more for the more premium diesel? i thought the reason why i (meaning, me personally) got a diesel engine is so i can save on fuel costs. turns out, it was a good decision. no wonder i don't notice that "mausok" thing (except for the one moment when the montero was something like 50km on the odometer and my wife asked "bakit mausok?"). but i haven't tried that seaoil. maybe when i chance upon a seaoil outlet.

i heard from 2 dealers already that quartz brown is a premium, rare and sought after color now. mas marami pang in stock black and white colors

as for payment in cash, unfortunately tama ka and some dealers prefer terms so that they can earn.

and yes, there is a price increase of P20T on the GTV (my dealer said june 2011 but others say july 2011)

i didn't think this was an issue. i don't recall this being an issue with the SA i spoke to. (not that i was planning to buy the truck cash.. i did purchase it via a car loan.) but if i'm not mistaken, i did ask if its okay if i pay cash and he didn't say it was going to be a problem. btw, my montero is quartz brown metallic which i purchased thru a car loan. how is the dealer going to make more money if you buy the truck thru monthly amortization? isn't the bank going to pay the dealership cash anyway? ..not unless it is thru in-house financing. but mitsubishi is not a financial institution and, if you plan to buy the truck via a car loan, they will refer you to one of their several partner banks (bdo, bpi, etc).

on the other hand (and correct me please if i'm mistaken), doesn't the majority owner of toyota motors philippines also own a leading bank? parang naalala ko tuloy yung pila ng pagbili ng fortuner a few years ago...

really? mine is quartz brown and at certain angles and under certain lighting conditions, it looks kind of dull sometimes. my wife certainly agrees with me, which, at more than several occasions, makes me wonder if i made the right decision for color choice. "rare and sought after?" hmm... time to look at the truck later with lustful eyes again hehehe

i was just thinking, ang liit lang actually ng kita ng bank sa financing. around 9% (or less, can't remember now) p.a. for a 3-year amortization. they'll make less than a 3rd of the financed amount before taxes. i doubt magbibigay pa ang bank ng extra commission sa dealer kasi ang liit na.

but now that you mentioned in-house insurance, bigla ko nakita ang point nyo. (actually, i think "partner insurance company" is a better term kasi wala naman kadikit na FI ang mitsubishi motors philippines kaya they will probably just partner with an existing insurance company.) dyan siguro medyo makaka-racket sila. although if i remember correctly, around 20-25K yata ang premium for the comprehensive insurance ng montero. if the valuation of the montero is 1.4M (for the GLS-V), hindi din actually ganoong kalaki ang pwedeng i-commission ng insurance company sa dealer.

sa ganang akin lang, ang pwedeng makinabang ay ang SA siguro. kung meron mang extra commission from the bank and/or the insurance company, maliit ito para sa dealer pero significant na ito para sa SA. diskarte na siguro iyan ng SA, and nasa pag-deal nyo na lang. a sale is a sale. kung ipagpilitan mong gusto mo bilhin ng cash and parang pinahihirapan ka ng SA (so that you will avail of the car loan), baka mayari ang SA sa sales manager if you decide to buy the unit from another dealer instead (lalo na't may hinahabol na quota ang sales manager).

siyempre, i should mention na purong haka-haka ko lamang ito

got approval for my auto loan, now i'm into shopping w/c dealer to choose, heard a good feedback to our forumer that citimotors alabang can gave as much as 25k discount, is this still true? by the way gls v, would be the one i'm getting, just worried about the smoke thing though, my innova diesel is almost 18months but i had no issue on smoke.
