Kung 4X2 lang yung 3.0V D-4D. Kasi masyado mabigat eh.

It will surely affect its speed.

    I still prefer mechanical 4WD.

    Yung dalawa pa ang kambyo.

    Mas astig eh.

I do agree it is possible na mas mabilis yung GLS-V sa GT-V. But another possibility is that mas equally distributed ang power ng GT-V because it has 5 speed A/T. if you will check, 3rd and 4th gear of the GLS-V is the same with the 4th and 5th gear of GT-V (though slightly different final gear ratios), so i think sa first 3 gears, possible na magka-advantage na ang GT-V kahit medyo mabigat sya. but still bought a common rail box to boost my upcoming GT-V (216hp/ 440Nm), mahirap na, hehe

    No
The diesels are just too good, and soon the lowest spec GLX will have 178PS and 400Nm. The MS gas engines in other markets are V6 3.0L and 3.5L (3.8L?) which do not make much sense here.

Toyota on the other hand has a 2.5L diesel with only 102PS, so their 2.7 gas has a market. But with the cheapest P1.3M GLX MS about to become (April?) more powerful than the top of the range P1.8M Fortuner; I think Toyota will soon have a new engine lineup. They may even drop the gas version altogether in The Philippines.

Good to see many photos already uploaded here so that future owners will have some visuals of the improved Montero sport. (for those requesting uploads the other day, sorry I had difficulty uploading. have to learn first, so next time will be no problem uploading :-) ) Though I havent seen any uploaded photo of the ipod connectivity, it is located in the glove compartment.

    Some possible modifications/upgrades would be:
    1. better/louder horn;
    2. matting, especilly for the third row.

a 2.8 gas engine?! where will that come from?! is it a Mitsubishi sourced engine? what is the model number? Please specify. AFAIK, the biggest Mitsubishi sourced 4 cylinder engine as of now is the 2.4 4G69 or 2.4 4B12 unless you are referring to the 3.8 6G75 currently found in the Pajero... i hope that has MIVEC so it wouldn't be that as +/- thirsty like the current Fuzion.

IMO, it can sell but not as much as the diesel variants. it will be an alternative to the big SUVs from the 3 american brands.

Yan nga din ang concern nung seller, bigger brakes and reinforced cage daw. Actually bought it not for high speed use, para lang macompensate the big and heavy wheels i am putting on the gtv. But you are right, thanks

    Teka lang,

    You mean 4-speed A/T parin sa GLS-V 4X2?

Kung mag-drag race sila, the GT-V 4X4 should be in the 2H mode (RWD mode).

Presently I'm out of country. Any way installed na.

Just saw the 2.5L VGT Montero kanina. Sana maimprove nila yung plastics, scratch magnet yung dash. Not too crazy about the sidings either. Di ko alam kung imagination ko lang pero parang mas tahimik ng konti yung engine compared to the old 2.5L.
