honestly at 12,000kms, i think it is still too early for egr cleaning and had my scv replaced last may2010 with only 6,000kms at the odometer.

bro, there is no such thing as too early for the egr cleaning... i personally saw a 6 month old gls sport unit barado na agad ang egr, wala pa 6k kms... as usual, dirty diesel daw ang culprit

exhaust gas recirculation yan sir. Kunting exhaust gas ng sasakyan (usually kapag naka-idle ka) ay ibinabalik sa combustion chamber para masama sa susunugin uli, It lowers nitrogen oxide for the betterment of the environment but it does get clogged up in due time. I-DIY mo na lang sir, madali lang naman basta may tools ka at gas lang katapat niyan. Wag na sa casa, sa labas na lang. Mag-serack ka sa internet, dami na gumawan niyan. Ako DIY din lang and pag-condem. No problem naman after almost 6 months na. Kung hindi sana crdi engine mo, better na i-condem mo na lang yan para walang problem.

sa toyota daw its injector problem ata, mas masakit sa ulo yun, we have trooper tlgang masakit sa bulsa hehehe.

palinis mo na yan sir Kcboy...for sure magugulat ka kung gano karami makuhang carbon dun sa EGR... if the acceleration is really restricted and the lost of power is really evident mga 2 to 3 tablespoon yan....just like on my first cleaning.....on my second cleaning mga 1 1/2 tbsp ang nakuha kasi on the 3rd gear lang nagkakaron ng glitch... HTH

Just wondering if the new VGT strada's have the same SCV unit and same number/quality of fuel filters as the old ones? If so why wouldn't mitsubishi change them to fit our dirty diesel needs? Kind of disappointing since this is the major factor why I wouldn't buy a strada. But I guess any CRDi engine would have similar problems also. Though I heard the Navara doesn't since 2 fuel filter nila. TIA

Sorry po mga sir kung mali ang pag post ko at nag mention ako ng other brands. Honestly gusto ko lang talaga strada pero na tatakot/frustrate ako dahil nga sa mga cases ng diesel natin na nakaka sama sa CRDi na parts. Again sorry uli po hindi ko naman sinasadya iyon pag compare. Kung puede ng mga mod tangalin iyon post ko I would be grateful. Kaka join ko lang mga sir ng site, but I know being a newbie is not an excuse. Very helpful and grateful ako sa lahat ng mga tsikot members. Ang dami nyong tulong sa mga current questions ko and sa mga backread ko na post. Especially when trying to find a new car or finding solutions, thanks po sa tulong ninyo and sorry uli po.

Thank you po sir. Iyon tatanong ko lang po kung sa bagong VGT variant kung may difference iyon fuel filter and SCV or pareho lang sa older models. Kasi na basa ko sa isang thread na once na palitan ng casa iyon SCV kadalasan hindi na uli bumabalik iyon problem. Parang mas malaki iyon hole or something?
Basically rin iyon solution sa fuel na mataas ang sulfur content and sometimes contaminated tanks iyon pag palit ng fuel filter every 10k kms diba po? Iniisip ko lang din po kasi na sana hindi dumating sa warranty at baka ma prevent naman by doing these simple procedures. Pag mat tubig naman iyon kinarga na diesel may water seperator naman iyon strada at pag puno na iyon container na iyon bubukas po ang check engine light? Hindi po ako 100% sure kaya ko po tinatanong. Thanks po uli mga sir!

I've noticed, may pumapasok na amoy through the aircon bawat dadaan sa mga mausok na lugar. Ganito din ba sa mga strada niyo sir?

Also ang bilis mawalan ng karga ng compressor. On our MS, sandali lang mag-load ang compressor and when it shuts off, matagal ulit bago mag-engage unlike on our Strada.

Mga ibang problema pa ng Strada GLX-V namen:

Remote Alarm unresponsive at times
Squeaky rear suspension or spring?
Sh*tty horn
