    Hi guys!

Tanong lang about the EX's, true ba na 60:40 folding type ang rear bench seats? so you can access the trunk while you're inside? if it is, that's a big factor for me. hehe.

And what can you say about long distance driving? kaya ba dalhin papuntang baguio or bicol with no problems (like overheating or the likes or early wear and tear)?

how about comfort? where can you place EX alongside altis and civic FDs in terms of comfort?

Gas consumption? baka kase gass guzzler.

    Maintenance? mahal o mura?

im considering buying an EX na (altis is the other option) after seeing it in the flesh, ganda pala niya in personal inside and out hehe (di ko natanong yung about the 60:40 thing kahapon sa mall, nagmamadali ako e). and checked the specs, ok din naman pala yung power and torque curves niya (medyo flat sa torque curve, tama ba? or mali lang yung nakita ko sa site).

well, if i should purchase it, it will serve as a commuter/family car during monthly breaks from work.

by the way, im rooting for the GLX (because of it's manual tranny) and GLS (because till dun lang kaya ng budget ko plus the foglights(tsk!) though enticing talaga yung mga discounts, 125K??? wow!).

    Thanks in advance guys!

Yes, the Lancer EX has 60/40 rear fold down seats.

I haven't yet heard of a EX overheating. Of course the oldest EX is just 2 years old.

Quite comfy. Great for long distance drives. Downside, smallish trunk.

Gas consumption? baka kase gass guzzler.
Typical for a 2.0L ... It can achieve great fuel economy figures when on the open road.

    Maintenance? mahal o mura?
About the same as a Corolla for the tune up stuff.

The torque is relatively flat. As for the power delivery, it would depend if you are getting the M/T or the CVT version. The M/T drives like a typical M/T. If you are getting the CVT, you have to get to the quirk of the CVT way of delivering power as compared to typical A/T. The engine revs to the RPM and stays there while the car increases speed.

well, if i should purchase it, it will serve as a commuter/family car during monthly breaks from work.
The spacious interior would be good for five average adults inside (including driver).

I got the Lancer EX GLS because of the CVT tranny. The CVT tranny makes it easier to drive in traffic since 99% of the time I drive in Metro Manila anyway.

But I do wish I can get another M/T for the weekends. Maybe I should just save up for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe?

Sir ayos ang cooling ng lancerEx,i have 2008mdl 42k mileage here in middle east..last week dito sa kuwait city, abot 53deg ang init and im driving 40kms a day sir.

Gas consumption? baka kase gass guzzler.

took mine on a 12 hour drive to ilocos last year. no problems whatsoever.

gas consumption is also dependent on driving style. for city driving, i get around 9 - 10 km/L. highway 12 - 13 km/L. ymmv of course.

maintenance is at 5k intervals. unlike hondas which have a 10k service interval. imo, expensive to maintain any 2.0L car.

a few guys have done that. I have seen the cars being worked on at a local tuner shop.

And btw i have 2010 gts lancer
GTS = 2.4L non turbo engine.

Nice car... unfortunately we don't get that variant here in the Philippines. It's the 2.0L variants then straight to the Ralliart and EVO-X.

how much is the GTA? I got my car out of the door $19k

also, I'm going to turbo my car with the ralliart kit or an aftermarket kit.

Prices for cars in the Philippines is more expensive due to import fees and taxes.

You can back-read this thread for the prices.

^ Pwede yan sir kahit anong trim ng EX. Kailangan mo lang yung conversion panel for the 2DIN head unit. That's one extra expense pero it's less than 5K, sulit na rin. Your choice of head unit na, basta 2DIN kakasya na.

Downside is, you also have to consider na sa casa ka dapat magpapa-install kung ayaw mong ma-void warranty mo sa electricals. As far as I know, not all casas will even install an aftermarket head unit. Sa Citimotors ako kumuha and apparently they only install AVT brand (at least nung time na bumili ako, last year pa yun). Yung ibang casa that time, hindi sila nag-iinstall ng ganun at all!

Yung sa akin, I had it installed as part of my sound setup, and obviously my warranty on the electricals has already been voided. :D

Ano ginagamit mong pang linis ng Lancer mo? Diyan lahat mag uumpisa yan.

Microfiber is always better, yung makapal para mas maganda mag-absorb. Kung ayaw mo naman sabunan yung kotse madalas, buy a quick detailer and a California Duster. Then before doing anything, dust the car using the Cali Duster. This will wipe off the bigger particles without using water. After that, it's time for the quick detailer. Spray mo lang, this will lift the small dirt particles from the paint, and then wipe off mo lang ng microfiber. The fibers will trap the lifted dirt without rubbing it over your paint. Yan ang ginagawa ko kung gusto kong waterless cleaning. Yung quick detailer, meron na ring wax yan, so yung talagang full-on waxing every 2 months lang pwede na.

For those minor scratches, try mo muna baka mag-improve na kapag gumamit ka nung instant detailer. Try mo yung Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer. :D

just a suggestion, you could try this when you have time. it could hide microscratches. done every 2 months:
    1. wash your car with running water and use your hands. no need to rub hard. just enough to loosen dirt
    2. car shampoo with microfiber mitt. clean your mitt every now and then with running water to prevent any particle on the mitt from scratching your car further
    3. rinse
    4. dry with microfiber
    5. claybar w/ appropriate instant detailer
    6. glaze application and buffing
    7. optional wax

    to maintain:
    1. cali duster for dust
    2. quick detailer for bird droppings
    3. tar remover for asphalt
    4. wash car weekly with/without shampoo depending on dirt buildup.
