May mga kilala ako sa office (including myself) na ayaw magpa promote from staff to officer. I only wanted the promotion when I reached the salary ceiling. Problema ko din ngayon paano ko sabihin sa VP namin na I don't wanna be AVP anymore. Not worth the stress. Sa office may kilala ako 1 tumanggi sa AVP promotion kasi ayaw niya mag handle ng maraming tao.

    I agree

sometimes it's not that you're ambitious or not. you have to try to challenge yourself to test your limits. or, there's also an instance that you're at a dead end and nowhere to go (kaya no choice).
basta ako i don't want to be included in the list of "what if guys". sa una lang talaga mahirap at masasanay ka rin sa pressure.
personal experience ito... nasubukan kong humawak ng project with a very limited knowledge sa aking role. our company says "basta dyan ka lang at bibigyan ka namin ng technical representative galing ng houston" (kasi kami ang contract holder kaya no choice). all i have to do is to take care of the safety and logistic aspects + signing of all reports.
however, it's so true that some guys are comfortable being at a certain level only. ito ngang post na ito ay halos lahat ng kasama ko (same level sa akin) ay ayaw tanggapin dahil ang contractor namin ay isang multinational na puro western guys ang bitbit. kami naman ay puro asean nationals hehehe

madalas din ako tamaan ng jetlag kada uwi ko sa pinas, air travel time is 17-18hrs, time difference ay 7hrs. almost 2-3 days bago ako makatulog ng maayos at maka-recover. after that, back to normal na. but on the way back, walang jetlag. i can work the following day...

Hirap kaming Chinese magtago ng antok bro. Nawawala talaga yung mata 😂

Work/play trip ito pero libre lang ng principal. Like most of our trips. Kung makakapili lang ako, doon na kami sa may snow. Ang init sa Florida!

    True this.

My doctor told me about a colleague of theirs (another doctor) who was an avid mountain climber. Went to the gym regularly, no vices.

He later suffered a stroke at a young age of 45. So, healthy lifestyle doesn't mean you won't get an illness.

Yes...there are so many factors, but one that adheres to a healthier lifestyle has less chance developing problems in the future than one that doesnt..

I'm about the same age but I am not yet a C-level executive. However, I don't take any sort of maintenance medication. I play golf if my schedule permits, just a brisk walk and no carts. I play hoops with my millenial staff. I drive like someone who boosted a car if the road opens up. On some nights, I spend a few hours being active in PS Online. If not for my reading glasses and salt&pepper hair, I could easily pass for an early 30s guy.

Jetlag is typically worse travelling across timezones going to the East,- like travelling from MNL to FL....

May flashback pa iyan bro,- tipong after 3 days na okay ka na,- biglang sumisipa ulit... Para bang AfterImage..

Pabalik ng Pinas,- just stay awake until nightfall and then hit the bunker... You should recover the following day (mas madaling magpuyat e)

Go to a beach with a bucket of beers,- lunurin mo ng alak ang flashback a este jetlag, bro...
