Babblers said MWSS was advised by a technical working group (TWG) to keep La Mesa Dam’s water level between between 72 meters and 73 meters two to three months months ago when PAG-Asa announced the onset of La Nina. The TWG advising MWSS includes hydro experts from the National Power Corporation, National Irrigation Administration and and National Water Resources Board.
MWSS, however, <ignored> TWG’s advice and kept water levels at 79 meters, or a few millimeters short of the 80.15-meter spilling level.
