Wanna see a burning talking bush? Para sa akin nag-jutz ata muna si Moses e. Hallucinogens were an accepted part of religious ritual noon. He must've been pissed that time, poor Egyptian prince exiled to the desert. ehehe

Seriuosly though, I can vouch for Lourdes holy water. For some reason, it works all the time. Pero hindi sinat o lagnat... tipong pang cancer yun. Galing!

OK pix ni zxho a, napatawa me. ehehehe

that has been a puzzle to me ever since, why was yaweh or god of the O.T., anti-egyptian? and he had to call on Moses (son of a Jew turned Egyptian prince) to free the Jews/Israelites from slavery. and then Yaweh led them to a promise land, which was already owned by the Palestinians. Why land grab? hehehe. Thousands of year later, gyera pa din sa lugar na yun (Palestine vs. Israel of modern times). what is so special about that place that they had to leave Egypt - a mystical and a very important place to brush aside ->

"The precise location and placement of the Great Pyramid on Earth give us the first pointer to it being a building of supreme importance. For it is located on the longest land contact meridian on the Earth's surface and is placed at the geographical centre of the total land mass of the Earth. If one is to send a message the prime requirement is of course that people will read it, it is no good putting it in a bottle, throwing it in the ocean and then hoping it will be found. One must place the message somewhere where it simply cannot be missed, a place so significant that its very location makes a notable statement in itself.

the latitude of the pyramid site 30 degrees north, is exactly one third of the distance from the Equator to the North Pole. Placed at the northern extremity of a range of hills commanding the entire plain of Lower Egypt, the Great Pyramid stands at the very centre of Egypt at a place that could also be described as the centre of the world.

my only half-baked theory: could it be that so much hyped chosen of people of God (the Jews) were so special and possessed great knowledge and skills that after engineering & building the pyramids of egypt, yaweh forced them to go to the promise land (palestine) to build another one?

but they were too late , coz the palestinian descendants of Ishmael beat them to it. Ishmael, dubbed as forefather of the Arabs, was widely believed by the Muslims to be the son that was to be sacrificed by their father Abraham, not Isaac.

The pyramids were not built by the Jews po. Mga barbarians palang mga Jews noon. The pyramids were not built by slave labor. They were built by skilled, paid Egyptians.

how sure are you that it was the Egyptians who built the pyramids? well yes, if you go to Egypt and read through their libraries, sasabihin nila proudly that they built it.

Egypt even formed alliance with Middle-East Syria in the 70's and participated in the Egypt-Syria vs. Israel war. Modern Egyptians consider themselves Arabs. Why is this so? Most Arabs are in the middle east, Egypt is in Africa. what's the connection? unless they're sourgraping on the idea that Moses' people built the pyramids as claimed by the bible.

It is a well known fact that even with our advanced building/engineering equipments of today, we can never replicate the perfect structure of the pyramids. That's one of the mysteries of the pyramids until modern times.

    A little history lesson...

The Jews were kicked out of their own land by the Romans during a revolt called Bar Kokhba's revolt were another Jew was called the Messiah named Simon bar Kokhba.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Bar_Kokhba

Christianity emerged as a significant religion as it was the only organization left after the Fall of the Roman Empire. It grew because of its influence on the Western world, for the better or for the worst. Even during the middle ages, those who questioned the Church were called Herectics and burned at the stake. Our very own Jose Rizal was excommunicated for the questioning the Church.

Any religion usually lavish their founders with benevolent wisdom or power, which their followers use to influence others to join them. Why do they need to mention all these miracles and greatness when all they preach is to be good??

One factor which added to the mystery was the destruction of the great library in Alexandria by a fire which destroyed many priceless records of inventions and ancient methods. Many so-called modern day inventions were shown to exist in ancient times after evidence were found recently.

I wouldn't under-estimate the capabilities of the human mind. Even a simpleton like me figured out how to bisect a circle by using Dad's drawing compass in the first grade. When I was younger, I liked drawing circles with crosshairs and then drawing something in the bullseye.

There was a series on the History Channel on such a topic.

    * One Greek inventor made a "magic door" which opened by itself like magic after people put enough "sacrifice" (coins) on a container outside.

    * Then the concept of the mechanical clock has existed for ages

    * There was even a drawing of what could have been the prototype for a steam engine.

    * The discovery of what looked like the first battery (as in Eveready) in Iraq.

    * The discovery of a relic off Crete which consisted of elaborate gears (as in watches); something the ancients were not considered capable of...

continue ko na lang for popcorn entertainment:

when Moses got angry of the Hebrews, after his forty day retreat in Mt. Sinai, he recalled the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and its destruction. He may have been reminding the Hebrews, the chosen people of God, of the mistakes of their pasts forefathers.

now what really is the significance of Sodom and gomorrah? why is it always mentioned? before theorizing on this, let's take what other cultures have to say, specifically other civilizations that are independent of the bible.

India is considered one of oldest surviving ancient civilization. They have two major sanskrit epics: Mahabharata and the Ramayana. At present, they are just considered old literature. It maybe historic and may as well be fictitious -> a product of imagination of ancient epic writers .

"Besides being hailed as one of the greatest literary accomplishments of humanity, The Mahabharata is also of immense religious and philosophical importance in India.

The Mahabharata, like the bible, also became controversial. It narrates awesome destructiveness of ancient wars.

" the weapon was a single projectile charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame as bright as the thousand suns rose in all its splendor... An iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes the entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas.... the corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. The hair and nails fell out; pottery broke without apparent cause, and the birds turned white.... after a few hours all foodstuffs were infected.... to escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment..."

It would seem that the Mahabharata is describing an atomic war! References like this one are not isolated; but battles, using a fantastic array of weapons and aerial vehicles are common in all the epic Indian books. The above section very accurately describes what an atomic explosion would look like and the effects of the radioactivity on the population. Jumping into water is the only respite.

When the Rishi City of Mohenjodaro was excavated by archaeologists in the last century, they found skeletons just lying in the streets, some of them holding hands, as if some great doom had suddenly overtaken them. These skeletons are among the most radioactive ever found, on a par with those found at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Ancient cities whose brick and stonewalls have literally been vitrified, that is-fused together, can be found in India, Ireland, Scotland, France, Turkey and other places. There is no logical explanation for the vitrification of stone forts and cities, except from an atomic blast.
the question that baffles modern translators was how could the writers of the Mahabharata (only an epic literature) describe weapons of destructions that was only discovered a century ago. It's either they got too imaginative or they were really describing a historic event (or a futuristic event?)

ah precisely, Hitler had this passion of collecting these ancient inventions. That's why it's not surprising that the Nazi warfrare equipment & skills were far more superior than the allied forces. pero saka na muna na yun hehehe

Something with similar effects but far more dangerous than atomic weapons are heavenly bodies hitting the earth like asteroids and comets. The common denominator for both is fused quartz which can only be produced by a nuclear explosion or an asteriod impact. Seems like fused quartz have been turning up many suspected impact sites.

The Meteor Crater in Arizona is no more than 20,000 years old and the Tunguska event in Siberia happened less than 100 years ago.

Despite these events, my belief in God is hardly shaken.

Edit: It also reinforced my belief that there will be a Doomsday event that will wipe out the human race someday.

In connection with the Bible, I was also told at a very young age that the lessons the Bible teaches is more important than taking the literal meaning in the writings within.

According to the great psychic Edgar Cayce who has this ability to read through the history of time, he said that the stones that make up the Great Pyramids of Egypt where placed there through teleportation. Those who built it were not of this world.

    continuation:

with Mahabharata recounting the destructions of two cities (as quoted above)

    and comparing it to Genesis 19:23-25;

The Sun was rising when the Lord reached Zoar. Suddenly the Lord rained burning sulfur on the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed them and the whole valley, along with all the people there and everything that grew on land
there is a similar pattern from two celebrated ancient books independent from influence of each other.

some scholars point out that the two cities mentioned in Mahabharata were the Rama (Indian) Empire and the Atlantean empire. yes, the myth that won't go away, the lost continent of Atlantis inside the Atlantic ocean. During the destruction, there were a few who survived and who escaped to nearby continents, and the nearest at that time was Africa and America. (Egyptian & Mayan Pyramids)

The Atlantean architecture was greatly influenced by triangular designs & concepts.
The Atlanteans possessed great knowledge and were considered an advanced race by other ancient empires.

The refugee Atlanteans could very be the descendants of the chosen people of God: the Jews/Hebrews/Israelites. When their city god destroyed (supposedly by a war or natural disaster), they seek refuge to nearby continents and became slaves or nobodies and/or assimilated. The once proud race was humbled. But not without taking with them their culture, science and skills and sharing it with the primitive world, thousands of years in the making.

Some say the O.T. God was a vindictive God. He had a plan for his people but punished his people when they didnt follow him. He wanted his people to seize the promise land or else, follow his commandments or else, do this, sacrifice that or else, be a king (like David/Solomon) but ... Yaweh was so conditional -> a human trait. So that may also explain why the O.T. is written by an equivalent media man of our times, but not bec. there is no such thing as God/Yaweh but bec. they wrote accdg. to their own biased emotions and accdg. to how they witnessed an event. kumbaga hindi investigative journalism, write as they see fit!

The Christ of the N.T. was obviously different. His teachings were of equality, forgiveness and faith. But like the Bible and the God of O.T., The Christ also became controversial. Particularly his age between 16-29 years old. where was he during those times? there was no mention in the bible on what his activities were during those inclusive years.

The only acceptable theory and is gaining much attention now, was that Christ spent these years incognito -> studying, observing, researching, accepting that he was a son of woman but a son of God. some scholars also point out that the Christ spent a lot of time in India.

and after those years of training and self-realization, the Christ was ready for his mission. and his favorite motto - "Love one another, Love your neighbors and your enemies" But he also casted away a lot of demons.

what do these suggest? for instance, one theory might suggest that the Christ knew of the ancient wars. He knew that the two warring cities were both people of God. They destroyed each other, and and had to start over. (parang Matrix hehehe) Ishmael-Rama-Arabs-Muslims & Isaac-Atlanteans-Hebrews-Jews, they're both sons and descendants of Abraham. that's why he went to India first hehehe

But really the answer is very simple - the new Christ was an enlightened one. He knew the past, the cause and effect. His mission was to unite the people of God. No such people as chosen ones or favorites. when confronted with anger/hostility, he preached forgiveness. when confronted with fear/misguidance, he preached love. That is the miracle and the message went as far to his enemies. The Romans who aided in his crucifixion became the champions of his mission. And proceeded on as becoming the Holy Roman Empire.

In summary, the message of God's love was here all along. sa interpretation lang talaga ng tao nakaproblema.

    The Muslims overdid it.
    The Christians reinvented it.
    And
The Jews ... well, they missed it.

(I read a joke like this before, i cant remember if this was the right words. hehehe)

the point is no matter where we take ourselves

in pursuit of half-truths or absolute truths,
in membership of dark side or light side of the force ,
in adopting an objective or spiritual attitude,
    in comparing history vs. fiction,
in rejecting one belief in exchange of the next,

we will never find the one universal answer that we seek
bec. we each have our own unique interpretations. this is where the problem lies, and not that the Bible is true or fictional.

I think everyone's missing the point. You dont need tangible facts when it comes to religion because it's all about FAITH.

No amount of objective facts will ever change the mind of a true believer.
