Baket kasi kailangan may kinatatakutan pa na entity na di naman makita para lang masabing "you're a do-gooder"...
If there's one word I really despise, it's "GOD FEARING..."
Ano man religion yan... Anong klaseng supreme being ang kailangan na kinatatakutan pa ng mga followers... So ibig sabihin hindi free-will ang pagsunod sa dyos.
Kaya madaming kaplastikan ang nangyayari sa mga fanatic sa religions... "do it for god, do it for allah, do it for E.T."
Just do it... ika nga.

IMO
people should look past the "organized" religion that most people know and talk about and just deal with the spiritiual aspect of it.
if that's the stand of the Catholic Church, then let it be...
if you don't agree with it, say your piece in a nice manner...
respect for the belief of others should be the bottomline. we don't all think alike but that's the beauty of being a human being.

Revelation xix,20
"And the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who in its presence had worked the signs by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped its image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone.”
untrue?
grabe! i can't believe they declare this to be untrue.
para na rin nila sinabing walang hell.
the bible is talking about what will happen to satan
after armaggedon, if i am not mistaken.

Konting explanation lang po:
Orly & boybi: lahat yan Old Testament which is a Nazarenic interpretation of Jewish books. Sa mga Nazarene po noon "put to death" ibig sabihin expel sa community of the "living" (mga Nazarene lang ang living... everyone else is "dead" - mga unenlightened). Kumbaga "dead." Pero pede rin mabuhay uli. Kaya may resurrection belief & ceremony - baptism. Para living uli.
Yung sa mens ***. Living apart ibig sabihin kasi still "living" kayo pero di kayo makasali sa mga religious activities kasi "unclean" kayo.
Galing po sa Nazarene tradition yung Roman Catholicism. Kaya nga po Jesus of Nazareth.
Coder: Karamihan po ng nasa bible allegorical. Meron din mga wrong translation (eg. Sea of Reeds naging Red Sea). Pero the interpretation of the Word of God, never ending story yan. Every generation same book, new revelation.
Btw, hilig ko lang po theology. The most important interpretation is your own.

City & psylocke (mmm yummy!) & theveed:
imho lang po, try reading "The Wager" by Blaise Pascal. OK yun for argument for religion.
City: Re Thomas Paine: kaya po maraming pede ma-interpret sa Bible is the concept of "free will" na ibinigay po ni God to man. Analogy: where would you rather live - in a true, freedom loving democracy? or with bin Laden - who has only 1 strict interpretation of the Koran. Including dying for Allah and go to Paradise where you will be served by 70 houri (virgins). (ehehe medyo OK din yun, kung hilig virgin ka. ;) )

laracroft: St. John was a raving lunatic by the time he wrote Revelation at Patmos (parang ipinasok sya sa mental ng mga Romans). Maswerte nga sya di sya itinapon sa mga lions. Revelation is one of the hardest books to interpret, honestly di ko alam bakit nasali pa iyon, pero God must have His reasons.
