ok yan. just don't forget to turn off and unplug your generator before switching on the breaker. PAgnagsalubong ang kuryente.......:boom1:

make sure naka switch OFF ang circuit breaker nyo

its not safe and surely a violation of electrical code ... better install an mts before its too late

I assume has wiring capable of accomodating 30A. Kasi 30A x 220V = 6600VA or 6.6KVA,- meaning huwag lang tataas ang genset mo sa ganyang power output.

And most importantly, turn-off the main breaker. If not, then the genset will be acting like a load (i.e. a motor) when regular power returns. Iyan ang delikado!

what i did naman is i installed a panel intended for use lang talaga with the generator, tapos after load balancing from that panel, distribute the supply to the load side of the main panel ng bahay, wherein i pick only those appliances that i really need to run during power failure... like water pumps, refrige, some aircon, selected convenient outlets and lightings. then yung remaining, still connected pa rin sa MERALCO, in that way, pwedeng simultaneous ang paggamit ko ng power from both MERALCO & generator, just want to observe lang if makakatipid ako sa power cost since consumption ko with MERALCO will be reduced... actually i just started today doing this kind of setup, still i need time pa to determine if makakatipid nga talaga.

IMO, not really if you know what you're doing and you understand your house's electrical wiring. Of course, the best is to engage a master electrician.

you could be spending as much as 10 times the meralco rate for the energy coming from the genset ... but i'm not stopping you doing your experiment and tell us your findings ... the figure i've given is what i vaguely remember when we used our genset (6.5kVA Honda) long time ago

thanks... 9600VA lang yon.. he he he

may point din kayo sir kinyo, actually i was able to check the specification of our gen set, since ang fuel consumption ng engine at 50% load is 3 li/hr, if i know the power rate from MERALCO, i might be able to come up with a figure that can better visualize the comparison... thanks
