"I'm really interested in designing roads" - Obviously taught good research skills, the one thing we didn't do was design roads!
"When do I become a manager?" - "Here, have my job, I suddenly have the overwhelming desire to drown myself in a large Tiger beer"
One guy, when asked what he knew about our company took a sheet of paper out of his pocket and started reading the home page of our website!
What I found really surprising was that around 60%, when told that we expected them to think for themselves, question solutions (English style!) and were basically saying, "Write your own job description dependent on your interests and we'll support you" said that that method didn't work for them. They wanted strict orders and instructions for each and every task.
And then of course, there were the ones that just didn't bother to turn up at all...
No wonder I drink!
