makisali na rin ako, i dont think discrimination ang pagsuot ng uniform ng maid. siguro kung super strict ang amo na maguniform talaga at pagalitan sila kung di nakauniform or something, un medyo tagilig pa. oh well.

as what ferrari said...you cannot just compare the maid to other employees. if you want to really make your maid feel the 'sense of family', i believe that requiring them to wear uniform will not help that goal. and if you treat your maid just like any other ordinary employee...then you have all the reasons to require them to wear uniforms. i won't argue with that.Originally Posted by CLAVEL3699

I run a business and im working in a multinational company that i manage a department.
My employees in my company gusto ko they will feel they part of the family. Im pushing the corporate culture of " sense of family" thay they own the company kasi pagnalugi wala din sila makakain kaya dapat pagmalasakitan nila.
Sa company naman pinagtratrabahuan ko. Ganun din We are in a corporate family kailangan malasakitan namin ang company.
Gets!!! Tingin ko nga hindi.
Even I trust them kailangan im aware of everything.

there was a lady who was gathering firewood. She chanced upon a poisonous snake frozen in the snow.
She took the snake home and nursed it back to health.
One day, the snake bit her. As she lay dying, she asked the snake, "why have u done this to me?"
the snake said, "Look bitch, u knew i was a snake."
kung degrading maguniform and maid, e mas degrading pkaya maging metro aide? naka yellow uniform palagi naglilinis ng kalye tsktsk
IMO just see it as it is, a UNIFORM. everyone has worn a uniform right?
in the first place, who the hell told us that we have to make them feel "they belong to the family..." sa philippine culture lang yan... being a maid is nothing but another job...
clavel: it would be very hard for an employee to put himself into an employers shoes... because they have never been there... because if they have been there, many would not climb the corporate ladder anymore... i understand what you are trying to say...
i believe that uniforms would not be a barrier on making someone feel "they belong to a family" what would alienate them is your treatment towards them... if you treat them right but chose to make them wear uniforms, that is more than enough...
kapag pinag-uniform ba tayo ng nanay natin para malaman ang magulang sa anak, wala na yun sense of family?
uniforms doesnt eliminate the sense of belongingness, you still belong pero may hierarchy na... it doesnt meant may hierarchy wala ng belongingness... uniforms conveys that "im with you, but im not of you..." which is reality naman... so wag na tayo magpakahipocrito...
people here talk about maids like as if they are poor little angels. Someone should start a thread here like "Maid Horror Stories"
tingnan natin kung puro poor little angels nga ang mga maid....
lets all sum it up in one sentence...
"WHATS THE BIG DEAL WITH MAID'S UNIFORM?"
if you want to be understood by people who made their maids wear uniform, you should understand them also...
if you want understanding, you should give it first...
respect their opinions and choices, so you would also be respected... its their choice, their life, their money, their happiness... its a free country... if you want to intervene and change their lifestyle, then lets abolish democracy...

tama ba? sa bible ba yan?
Which group of people loves to portray the rich as oppressive and the poor as oppressed?
The Reds. the marxists. the socialists. the communists. the leftists.
i agree...pero may perception kasi na pag maid ka, you're the lowest of the low, which we all know isn't true. i know maids and janitors who put all their kids through college and are now working professionals...anong nakakahiya dun?Originally Posted by van_wilder

did anybody bother to ask a maid whether they found it demeaning to wear a uniform in public?
let me restate the two biggest fallacies i've read in this thread:
1. all employers are for some reason supposed to make their hired help feel like family or else they are Satan incarnate
2. it is demeaning for a maid to have to wear a uniform in public.
the people who are stating this are just saying it over and over without bothering to explain why #1 and #2 are true. maybe saying it enough times will make it so![]()
