sir, you've always commented that the interior materials of the mazda2 is a bit better than that of the fiesta. Just wondering if it's from the feel/look of it? (fiesta grainy plastics vs. "elephant skin" mazda2 plastics), or the solidity/thickness?

More on the look and feel. It seems better screwed together (though the Mazda2 is very good), but the surfaces feel cheapish in comparison to the Mazda2.

We didn't time the Fiesta around the track. We did back to back drags (no comment

) and some slaloms. I did get to push both cars hard (not timed) in various situations, and the feeling I (and other testers) got was that the Mazda2's suspension is looser and less precise. The Mazda2 feels more responsive and lighter (because it is), but at full attack on the racetrack, it's more than likely it will lose to the Fiesta.

guess ford did really sort out the fiesta then. hehe. making it handle better while not making it excessively stiff

Hoping that more people would hop aboard the 2/fiesta bandwagon

as of now I'm lucky to meet one on the road

mga bossing, i guess the only thing left to do then is to actually time both to finally find out who is better on the racetrack. :-)

I'd actually like to see if anybody's messed around with their mazda 2: plopped in a unichip ECU, modified the intakes, etc etc. hehe

The best would be the Clark track. Carmona is a bit too small and confining, Batangas has heavily cambered turns. Clark has esses, hairpins and switchbacks that will really show off the difference in suspension tuning.

Won't be long, I guess. I'm waiting to see what Corksport and the other traditional US Mazda tuners are going to come out with. The 2 is one of those new cars that really makes me want to jump out of my Lynx...

I heard already the circuit from Clark but i haven't been there yet mas maganda raw ang track.

Batangas and Carmona circuit mostly used by motorcycle racing.... I've been there for racetrack day last year using my 2 wheels...
