It's a 4-speed slushbox, which seems a bit low-tech compared to the offerings of other cars in its class, but IMO, it's mated to the engine perfectly.

Gear-hunting isn't that big a problem for this car's A/T, and the "Sport" mode (for downshifting) and the HOLD button make overtaking a breeze

    thank for your feedback bro.

I reckon my brother and my dad would like an AT this time so I was kinda asking for the current M2 owners' sentiments...

I back-read the thread and I was indulging on your nice M2 pics. For me you can't go wrong with either the sedan or the hatch. I seldom see M2s here in the South Metro... as usual the Vioses, City and Adventures swarm the area... even the hyped Fiesta is a rarity here.

    Metropolitan Grey FTW!

it's nice to see activity buzzing in this thread!

at nagsusulputan na mga owners ng 1.3 na mazda2

*buex_mike: nice FC figures sir! the 1.5 A/T gets 10 km/liter in the city with very careful driving...

*mda: I've tried changing the wipers, they're approximately the same size with that of the vios/yaris. failed though, bosch wipers won't fit...

*gtrinidad: uy accessories! I might drop by there too soon... gonna get that antenna and rear scuff plates. btw, were you at the fort last night? there was a true red HB shadowing us

*Djerms and cjv_justice: the shift shock is quite noticeable between the 1st and 2nd gears, especially if the throttle revs the engine between 2,500 to 3,000 rpm. But as gtrinidad mentioned, the ECU controls the transmission quite well, depending on how you're mashing the pedal.

driving at econo-mode, the ECU can shift at 2,000 rpm everytime (but you get overtaken by everything)

normally, it shifts between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm

flooring makes it rev to 6,500 rpm everytime

100 kph is dispensed at around 2,700-2,800 rpm

The "hold" (O/D off) button also functions nicely, as you can use it for all gears, and not just at "D"

    to illustrate:

    w/o hold
    display: D-S-L
    gears to be used: 4-3-2

    w/ hold
    display: D-S-L
    gears to be used: 3-2-1

it's useful at times, especially during uphill situations.

    *ilovetwodie: what's your ride ma'am?

I DIY'd a matte screen protector for the head unit... the screen got scratched to the high heavens from wear and tear. not an exact fit, but it's good enough for the purpose. hehe. gonna make an improved version when I discover how to cut circles more neatly...

just picking up my wife and kids at my wife's office 3rd st. (xmas party kasi) then we went to MOA

Early january dami dadating na parts ng M2 sa shop na binangit ko.

Yes it depends on how your'e mashing the pedal, nung una nagtataka din ako kung bakit ganun takbo ng M2, but when my SA demonstrate M2's ability and it's being aggressive to the road nakuha ko na yung driving tips ng M2.

sarap gamitin yung "S" then pressing hold... zoom-zoom talaga....

*harold13: wala nang murang sasakyan ngayon sir. 1.3-1.4 liter subcompacts go above 600k. 1.5 and 1.6 liter subcompacts go above 700k, minsan lagpas 800k pa.

the only "cheap" decent subcompact nowadays is the i10. 500k ata? and that's even smaller than the vios/yaris/city/jazz/accent/rio/2/fiesta crowd.

lower prices get a china car or a secondhand auto
