Montero vs cx7 - (obviously this is my car v.s my friend's cx7) the engine of the cx7 is much much more quiter and has a better ride quality compared to my MONTERO. noise insulation is also very good compared to my montero. and lastly the ZOOM-ZOOM dna is very evident whenever i try to corner the cx7 of my friend. it just cuts through the corners and the suspension is stiff, but not to the point that it is harsh and unpleasant. if i were to choose again i'd choose cx7 hands down compared to my montero.

Fortuner vs cx7 - still the same as the advantages of cx7 against the montero specially for the ride quality. cx7's ride comfort is light years away from this car! peace to fort fanatics but none the less, the fortuner can go places the cx7 can only dream of!

2008 CRV vs cx7 - yep you're right on the money sir! crv is a very boring car indeed. my brother drives the current civic FD and its more entertaining to drive compared to the crv, BUT, the crv provides better ride quality and has a softer suspension compared to the cx7! so in short, conservative choice is the CR-V, and if you're performance oriented and sophisticated or in layman's term RACER type, go for the cx7!

2009 ForesterX vs cx7 - (based on the forester that i drove before) i think this is the only car in your choices that ties the performance level of the cx7 when it comes to driving dynamics and street credit. first of all, both are the two best looking SUV's today. but as a whole package the forester performs better because of its AWD!!! so with that said cx7 falls second in the handling dept. but in the interior design, i think cx7 wins in this department. the foresterX's interior is quite a step lower compared to the cx7. this would be hard to admit because i love the forester specially the XT model which has the turbo! but the interior of the forester is somehow crowded with rattles! i don't even know why because the foresterX of my friend was just a year old! we dont even know where the rattles are comming from.

so thanks for reading my experiences with these cars.

how about regarding gas efficiency? any reviews? strongly considering getting a cx7 but worried it will be like the mazda tribute which was going 4-5km/liter.

    why?

this is what i noticed so far, i've been here on tsikot for about 2-3 months and the hyundai owners are very defensive pag pinag usapan na ang hyundai. pag pinag compare mo ang isang car against a hyundai, hyundai owners suddenly comes in na para bang sinabi mo na the other car is better than the hyundai. lalo na si gen.mitting maganda lang ata sa kanya eh yung santa fe nya, no offense to hyundai owners.

*bing lim.- sorry sir but i didn't monitor the gas consumptions of the cars because i don't own all of them, just the montero and the 07 civic. though my friend who owns the cx7 doesn't complain about the gas consumption. but again, you won't buy the cx7 for fuel consumption right? cx7 is more of a driver's car same as the forester, because both of these suvs are more driver oriented and athletic. so if your concern is fuel consumption just go with the CRV.

*daimengrui- sir actually i respect the Hyundai brand. only my barkada in dlsu discriminates the brand, maybe because their cars are seriously Japanese like subaru sti, mitsu evos and honda s2000. i think im the only one who doesnt drive a super car.haha but for me hyundai is a great car company.

*foresterX.- i still want your car! hahaha

thanks for the reply. actually we are considering either subaru forester or cx7. hubby wants of course a cx7 or forester, either of the two, but now more leaning towards cx7. I am more inclined with montero sport coz of diesel engine. as a girl, i consider fuel consumption of course, though my mazda 3 was running only at 7-8km/liter. I know if you talk to men, fuel consumption is usually not a consideration. we have a hyundai tucson but so not happy with it.

OT: Ms.Bing, its normal for guys to like the subaru forester specially the XT model which has the turbo. whenever i drive a foresterXT of my friend, i always cant wipe the funny grin i have in my face. hahaha seriously! if u drive the forester you'll be smiling just by driving it and for no apparent reason

hi guys! i got my black cx7 last december sa mazda makati..super ok exterior at interior nya..parang rx8 ung mukha nya and the interior looks like an airplane cockpit lalo na sa gabi..downside lng na napansin ko is the high fuel consumption..gnawa ko na lahat ng tricks i know para tumipid ung consumption during city driving pero 6km/liter lang tlaga eh! sa long drive nman nag-improve lang ng konte, 6.5km/liter! i've been driving the car from taguig to makati everyday and ganun talaga cnsumption nya..dinala ko na nga din sa mazda makati pra ipa-check ung engine kc they claimed before na 15km/liter dw ung consumption ng cx7 nung pinatest drive nla sa DENR pa kamo..sabi ko nlang baka downhill ung ginawa nilang testdrive..hehe..one more sad thing bout the car is its suspension..its kinda stiff to think na its running on 70series na tires..naghesitate tloy ako na palakihin ung mags ko at i-low profile ung tires ko kc bka lalong maging matagtag..yun lang nman as of now mga probs ko..other than those satisfied nmn ako overall sa cx7 ko and il still choose it over other cars kung papiliin man ako ulet..

for the ipod adapter, i just used an audio to audio jack. all you need to do is to plug one end to the ear phone input jack of the ipod and the other to the accessory input jack inside the center console. it is enough to have your ipod play on the 7's stereo system although you need to control the songs selection and other functions from the ipod. with the same jack, i can also use a generic cd-r king mp3 player also and play it on the 7s stereo system, hehehehe

as for the all weather mat, i am using a rubber one that is shaped like a bowl. useful for keeping the damp and dirt on the mat
