got my soul red 2014 for the 2nd week already. i'm wondering why it wants to take the longer route to the office
house to office is just 5.5kms. but a few meters before the office it takes a right turn to take a "mini-spirited" driving, then U-turn for another lap before eventually checking in... loveeet hehe...

I am in the market for a Mazda 3, and I have a few questions.

1. Which Mazda dealer in MM do you recommend?
2. What is the fuel consumption of your car in very heavy traffic?
3. Do you really use the Mazda concierge service?
4. Is the base model 1.5 sedan available in soul red? I saw a +P20k option to upgrade to soul red, but the SA said it's only for the top of the line model.
5. Which tint did you get? A friend who drives an M2 warned me against getting the darkest tint.

This will be my first car. I have other options but I fell really hard for the M3. My apprehension is that I am a newbie driver (my student license is yet to be upgraded to non pro, and am still taking driving lessons) and I feel like I should get a cheaper car first, hone my driving skills before buying a "nicer" car. But I am dead set on getting an M3 before the year ends.

Keeping my fingers crossed! I hope I am making the right decision. Please say something reassuring! (Just kidding.) Thank you all for this very informative thread.

Hi! Here's what I can share

1. I got my first Mazda just 18 days ago. As it's my first time with Mazda, I'm not confident about endorsing someone I just knew. Try dealership-hopping to get the best offer there is. That's what I did. You may also PM me about this.

2. I haven't driven my M3 in terrible traffic; but in slow-moving traffic, yes. My slowest average speed so far with my M3 is 15 km/h, and I haven't derived my full-tank method figure yet. Please check the "Mazda Fuel Consumption Database" thread, my first two fuel cycles are posted there.

And oh, with my then-2009 Altis, my personal best was 9.45 km/L * 15 km/h. Note: To me, "terrible traffic" means 12 km/h and below.

4. To the best of my knowledge, there's no soul red 1.5 variant. It only comes in silver, black, white, titanium flash, and eternal blue. Mine's silver, by the way

5. Got the medium one for every window except the front windshield (had the lightest on it).

Sir travajante and I are all about following your heart I won't tell you what to do, except maybe to just follow your heart.

And if you're a new driver, try sitting on an M3 now in the dealership that's closest to you. It might take a bit of an adjustment as it's a "low-ride." I'm 5'5" but I can drive it at the lowest seat configuration

I prefer the lowest seat setting w/ legs outstretched, too. I never feel the need for rest stops on those looooong spirited drives in the country backroads & twisties.[emoji4]
