Thanks, how much will this cost me? Need to manage expectation and budget.

My personal experience with them is that, they do things out of passion. You should not worry much about it. They even do things for free, for camaraderie.

For example, they paid a third of the price for my Dyno test during my OVT setup. We did the Dyno test in SCaG Automotive Services. During the fun run in CIS, these guys swapped some exhaust parts from two cars without labor fee.

What I'm saying is, go and meet OVT. You can tell the tale later.

Thanks for the FB suggestion, but I don't have an account, will make my life miserable lol.

I think I'll be able to manage the firmware update myself, just need the download link. I've read from mazda3revolution forum that v33 should be rolled back first to v31 before upgrading to v56, else it retain the bluetooth issue even after a successful update.

I don't have FB too, so I just used my wife's account to join hehe

Yeah, it would probably take a long time before it reaches us. Look at how long the "free" navi map became available. Baka mauna pa dumating yung updated M3 model than this upgrade hehe.

My 2014 3 came with v31. I upgraded it myself to v33 to v56.00.100 then v56.00.513ADR.

Just read the instructions carefully. I got the steps from mazda3revolution forums.

Install the fail-safe file first. Should take a few mins. The second bigger reinstallation file takes more than 30 mins. Just make sure to press the brakes every 15 mins or so to reset the car's auto-shutdown clock. The car automatically shuts down in around 20-25 mins of no activity. Shutting down in the middle of the install can brick your HU.

Yes lalo kapag pababa initially. The cruise control will utilize engine braking to achieve programmed speed.

Step 4 in update procedure wherein it states:

"Insert the "ROOM" and "AUDIO" fuses into the fuse box in the engine compartment (if not already done)."

Is the above step really necessary? Did you do this? Don't know how to locate the above mentioned fuses, unfortunately.

Do I need to open the hood? I think it's already moot now that doing that ROOM and AUDIO fuse thing is not necessary.

Also, since everything will be turned off except for the CMU, is it okay to leave the door open the whole time with lights off of course?

Hood no.

Door propped open yes. I still have this fear of locking myself out with the keys inside the car Old school thinking yes but habits die hard.
