Just leave it plugged when car is unused.

Yes, this is what I did when I didn't use my car for two months.

EFB and AGM are different, right? I think I also read somewhere that EFBs are better?

The former Mazda Otis is not selling the iStop Motolite kasi ang bilis daw masira. They switched to a Japanese brand which I can't remember

Once replaced, do I really need to reprogram the iStop? I saw that you already posted a DIY reprogram before pero kailangan ba talaga?

    Thank you

    AGM>EFB>RegFlooded.
MazdaPh pulled the Motolite plug as it seemed their EFBs were just stickers/labels.[emoji12] They lived very short lives. Now on the Nippon GS Yuasa.
iStop relearning randomly needed. Sometimes you get lucky. If iStop works normally after the switch, you're fine. Most batt retailers hook a memory saver upon swapping a new batt in to avoid wiping out some soft electro settings & data.

Yes, I removed the battery terminals the last time I cleaned it and nothing happened except that I lost a few memory settings.

May I ask for your recommendation regarding a memory saver?

The common practice I've seen was to clamp the terminals w/ another 12v source (usually from a small battery) before the car's -/+ terminals are unhooked from the batt to be replaced.

Among the 3 brands, which do you recommend? GS Yuasa iStop batteries are exclusive to Mazda only, the GS Yuasa distributor can only offer Delkor * Php11,000. For Panasonic, I dealer friend gave me a quote of Php8,700.00

I think that is a great price! Can I be a "friend" to your friend?
    [emoji3]

I have a feeling that I can extend the original battery for several months only in using CTEK. Worst is, a couple of months only.

At the very least, I had it for a minimum of two years compared to others who lasted for a year only. Now I understand why Mazda dropped Motolite.

I think 8700 makes the best sense given you'll probably need to change it again in 24months more or less..
