If the tire is more than 6 years from its production date (code printed at the tire sidewall), regardless of mileage and thread thickness, it's best to have it replaced. Replacing it 5 years from the production date (not from the date the tire was purchased) is also good especially for a country with hot and humid climate.
What brand of tire are you planning to buy sir?
If the price difference is not that painful I'm partial to Turanzas. They made my crappy old Lancer quieter than I believed possible. I'll put Aeolus on the shortlist

There are a lot of good high performance tires out there. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 is bang for buck. For those who want good proven performance w/o the Tier1 tire cost, look into the AU04. (UTOG 350 AA A)....Oh, not a vendor. Just sharing a worthy find.

I think I didn't search thoroughly but at least for our two local dealers here in Bulacan, it isn't available.
Anyways, our good member here gave me a gargantuan discount! And because of this, we found out that casa is really making a lot of money from unsuspecting customers.
By the way, I haven't used the tires as I wasn't expecting the insurance to cover it. That means I'll buy another pair next year so that I can replace all four tires.
And whoever is reading this, please don't bother to ask who the guy is. He specifically told me that he gave that special discount "exclusively for me". In other words, he wants to remain anonymous.
If you are reading this, thank you for the privilege.

Hi, anyone here replaced their "Tensioner Belt V" already? I'm beig quoted by the casa 28k. Is this normal replacement part for a 5-year old vehicle? 31k in ODO.

That's the problem Sir, I don't feel anything wrong yet they are recommending for the Belt Assembly to be replaced.
I'm not an expert when it comes to the mechanical thing of cars, but I'm guessing that if something is wrong, I should be feeling something wrong [emoji28]

U won't feel anything with belts until its too late. Open ur hood, get a flashlight, check wear n tear on those rubber belt. If u don't know your way around, ask the casa to point it out. Saan yun tama ng belts.
