To combat relatively high levels of road noise—one of our few complaints about the 3—Mazda said it has revised the dampers and sound insulation for a quieter overall ride.
one of the things to look forward to on the refresh

Not sure if its because of defective tires, high mileage or nagutter ak. Just weird that two of the tires had crack and its huge. Doesnt look like someone pierced through it, looks authentic cracks along the sidewalls.. Do we have warranty with tires?

    Thanks!
with that mileage hindi yan defect, wear and tear plus possible curbing (like you said) can lead to that.

good year eagles on my other car didn't even cover 1/4th of that mileage and it has cracked sidewalls showing its metal plys already. dahil sa track use (heat killed it)

hankook tires on our sta fe naman wala pa 1 year and 10k mileage tires have major chunking already.

different tires different characteristics and durability though

Just a few additional questions - looking at new tires:

    1. Any other brand recommendations? Candidates ang GT Radial, Accelera, or Westlake. I just feel like im downgrading from the stock Toyos that came with the unit. Baka lang matulungan nyo ako mag decide
    2. May I ask kung ano ang comfortable size ng tires for 18s (without rubbing)? Not planning on dropping anytime soon.

    Again, TIA!
my only advise is not to scrimp on tires, especially if you do high speed driving, its the only thing in contact between your car and the road.

Quick question, is it fine to buy a brand new set of tires manufactured 2 years ago? Read somewhere na kahit technically "brand new" sya, tumitigas ang rubber over time if hindi gamit.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!
technically, it all depends how it was stored, if properly stored, ok lang yan, if hindi delikado. But you won't really know how it was stored so better just get newly manufactured ones.

two full years from today's date seem too old for me personally, ideally go for less than a year since you are paying for brand new prices. if discounted bigay sayo, magduda ka, margins for tires are so low, that if they are willing to let it go na lugi, either something wrong or non saleable yun model.

Thanks a lot Sir Balong and Sir Travs!

Yeah, thinking that the 2 year manufacturing date seems too long ago. In terms of brand, its now between the Accelera Phis and the GT Radial HPYs. 225/40r18s (btw, what will be the difference between this and the 245/40s?)

Anything else I should know about re wheel fitments before taking the plunge?

no experience on those brands/models, maybe others can help you out

but those tire sizes for the stock 18 rims? stick with oem spec na 215 45 R18 ata if i recall correctly. 225 40 R18 will be shorter sa diameter for sure, baka more than the tolerance so do not use that, and 245 will be too wide for your stock rims. if you get aftermarket rims 8inch wide or more pwede ka mag 245 40 R18 without problems

    Safe fitments:
    18x8-8.5 et45 up w/ 215-225/45
We know 245/40 on 18x8.5 et44 will need fender roll to clear.

I always instruct the techs never to top my fluids up during PMS. Oil change, of course they'll do. I keep bottles of Mazda FL22 coolant, Distilled water (Absolute or Wilkins) together w/ Shell Full Synthetic 5w-30 Helix in my parts bin.
Our local tap water is very hard & would calcify. A big no no....just my 2cents, sir.

Have a mazda 3 1.5 on 18x8.5 et44 with 225/45/18 dropped on h&r springs. been on it for about 4 months no rubbing experienced so far even with three adults sa likod. so safe naman sa rubbing lalo na pag hindi ddrop.

AFAIK most 18x8.5 ROTAs have offset +44.

those are not part of Yojin3, decarb cost is 4k to 6k depende sa service center,

issue here is, why perform decarb at 1k? they are clearly trying to rob you by performing unnecessary services
also, did they ask you beforehand if you want to avail of those services?

as far as I know, sa pag hit mo pa ng 20k kms recommended mag decarbonize... may be less.. but surely not at 1k pms

Hmmm, I had my 1t km pms at Mazda Greenhills just now, & they did not perform the services you mentioned.

They are trying to milk you for unnecessary service(s). You do not need these services at 1T kms. Maybe at 20T-30T kms it's necessary if you drive in traffic all the time. AC defogger cleaning? Have never heard of this service. You probably don't even use your defogger. Sometimes it's good to go on a road trip to exercise the engine.

Change to another dealer for servicing next time.

Mazda has an AC cleaner/deodorizer/thermal fogging machine. You can seek this service to rid the interiors of unwanted stink.
