As of now there are no avaiable backup cameras fitted for the new Mazda 3 as they've only recently hit them market. We expect availability of more accessories in about 3 to 4 months

Plus the fact that we hit 150kph and approx 120kph average cruising speed on SCTEX during our test drive from Cabanatuan to Clark.
That's some good fc sir, considering na mejo birit din. Does the 1.5 have the same final drive as the 2.0? i.e. 100 kph * 2000 rpm in 6th gear?

Mejo OT lang, sa Mazda Cabanatuan ka naglabas sir? As per my SA, dalawa pa lang ang naglalabas ng new Mz3 sa Cabanatuan, ours, which is a white 2.0 sedan and an aluminum metallic 1.5 sedan.

As for the final drive, 100kph * rpm between 2k-3k in 6th gear. I conclude na mas mataas po talaga rpm at this speed because of the smaller engine lalo na 100 kph above, nasa 4k rpm na sya. For sure 2.0 has an advantage at this range of speed.

Yes Sir sa Mazda Cab. po, ours po is the aluminum metallic 1.5 sedan.

Mayon Viewing Deck along Sabluyon Road? I bet you had fun with the 9km worth of twisties up to the observatory 😉

I don't know if it's called by that name, I drove Tabaco-Ligao road before turning to Mayon National Park road, a winding road of ~10km long before the Mayon resthouse. It was indeed a fun drive, but there's no need to switch to manual mode.

Mine is purely city driving, 10-20 km/h average speed with lots of short stops due to traffic, istop on, short burst of speed, consumption ranges from high 5 to low 6 km/l. Noticed though that consumption is better if the car is driven hard in the the city. Bit weird. Car feels very light though. 2.0 sedan

That figure sounds about right. Hirap na humatak ang 2.0 in 6th because of the high gearing, pang cruising lang talaga.

Potpot sir pag nagkasalubong tayo. Actually nasasalubong ko mz3 nyo madalas sa city proper at minsan sa zaragoza.

I agree sir, pang relaxed driving lang po talaga yung 1.5 compared sa sporty 2.0

    Sure sir!

May i just ask from mz3 owners here if you hear a "lagutok" or kalampag sound when going through humps during low speed? I initially thought it was the jack at the back but it appears its coming from the front shocks pasenger side. Any of you have similar experience? Appreciate a feedback. Thanks

yup that's the one. Sayang lang hindi asphalt yung road pataas. The cement is okay but it's more fun to drive on asphalt sana.

Good to know that the Mz3's transmission is smart and quick enough not to need manual mode on the twisties

I heard a lagutok once when I hit a curb on the driver side with the steering at full lock but never heard it again even in deep potholes. Maybe it's the suspension components seating in? Do you hear it regularly sir?

By the way, has anyone heard a buzzing sound like a vibrating cell phone on the dashboard when driving over coarse asphalt? It doesn't come up on big potholes. Seems to be coming from the steering column. You can only notice it when you look for it deliberately, but it's driving me nuts.

I heard it as well two or three times, if accelerating very slow from stop, including around the humps. I'm not familiar with the kalampag sound so I can't compare if its really something like that. When I traveled ~1,500 kms during our Albay trip, I encountered several occasions I feared the underside have been hit by rocks or gutter so I immediately had it checked at Mazda after we returned, fortunately there are no signs of damage/gasgas. I also asked about that sound I'm hearing but the mechanic told me, it's normal though I wasn't able to replicate it then.

Question about the tire pressure, what is the correct pressure for our Mazda 3? My SA told me it's between 30-32 psi, but I think the manual states around 36 psi. I'm having it regularly checked/adjusted at gas stations whenever I'm refilling, set to 32psi.

Sound is only audible when going through humps at an angle and at slow speed. Its not there when going through potholes or other road imperfections. You only a very solid "thud" sound for that.

As for tire pressure, i normally inflate mine at 38 front, 35 back. I"ve checked the tire specs and it says max 51 psi although the recommended tire pressure as shown in the side door is 32 front, 29 back. All psi by the way.

Heard the vibrating sound also but its normally present when going through rough asphalt. I think this is the "road noise" mentioned in several of the reviews on our mz3. Any other pavement the vibrating sound is absent.

I usually hear that when I drive by humps, but instead of the front I'm hearing it from the right rear passenger side. Last Thu it was so evident that upon arriving home I checked on my car's rear wheels and I've noticed that the right rear wheel, compared to the left rear wheel, is higher. I'll have it checked today as I'm scheduled for my first month PMS.

Regarding tire pressure, I'm following what the manual says which is 36 PSI.

    I'm driving a 1.5 aluminum silver hatch.

I'm not sure if it's the same sound as what sir angbatangobong is hearing, but I did hear a faint sound from my dash similar to what you hear when dialing a fax number. I only noticed it when I turned off the radio and it was going all throughout my drive last Thu.

I'll ask about it during my first month PMS later.

That was also my initial observation, right rear passenger side, but the more i observe it the more i think its coming from the front passenger side. Hope CASA would be able to identify the source.

By the way, sir, do you happen to be from the antipolo/cainta area? I think i saw your silver hatch one time going to floodway. Pretty hatch by the way.

Thanks sir NAML. It might have been me though I'm from Q.C.

Done with my first month PMS. Everything is okay according to the mechanic, including the wheel alignment. The only thing that wasn't checked is the fax tone sound that's seemingly coming from the dashboard on the driver's side. He said it'll take about a day to really check that as they need to detach some parts, which is also giving me second thoughts if I'll push through with the diagnosis or not.

For the other M3 owners, have you experienced this in your units? It's quite faint and only noticeable when the radio is off and the vehicle is moving.
