Salamat sa po sa inyo. Just thinking that AWD is far better esp for uphill. Kung ganun din naman mag 2WD na lang ako as most of your opinion said.
Concern ko na lang pala insurance medyo malaki pala talaga. Tapos na ang promo ng bpi na free insurance sayang.

Yes but you also have the option to lock it to AWD at speeds less than 40kph. I am only using mine during floods. I dont know if i read it in the manual or somewhere. At normal driving. 90% of power is on front, 10% on rear.

AWD is nice to have but not required to go uphill. You need torque and HP w/c the 2.2L R-engine has more than enough of. But if you really need AWD and willing to pay the premium, go for it. For me, I'd take the P100k difference and take the Sorento to Speedlab hehe.

^^^ bpi ba loan mo? nakatali insurance mo dyan for the term of the loan, di ka pwede kumuha ng insurance sa iba sa bpi lang. mataas premiums mataas din ang participation. kaya nag-decline ako sa loan na offered ng BPI dahil dyan.

walang "free insurance, free chattel mortgage". binabayaran mo din yan may interest pa nga, nakatago lang sa monthly payments mo.

kung sand and dirt road lang naman with a little mud thrown in kayang kaya ng 4x2 sorento yun. nagamit ko na sa farm road ang sorento ko, going over loose sand, gravel and loose mountain dirt kinaya naman. may stretches pa na medyo muddy (repeat, MEDYO LANG) kaya naman. front wheel drive kasi mas makapit ang gulong kesa rear wheel drive due to the fact na nasa front ang engine mas mabigat ang weight sa driving wheels.

Tanong ko lang yung sa "eco drive" okay lang ba permanently active yun. I really notice yung efficiency and very effective. Though mabigat ramdam (lalo na nang first time driving ko ng sorento ng iuwi ko sa bahay), pero sanayan din lang naging at ease na ako. Worry lang ako baka naman may masira kung permanently naka ON.

Na-observe ko. Pag naka ON ang eco I able to get 6.5 li/100km while pag naka OFF 8.5 li/100km. SLEX yun.

Sa 5 seater na sorento, may nakatry na ba sa inyo magpakabit ng jump seat? Yung jump seat is for kids po sana. Gusto ko sana yung 7 seater pero can't afford na.

Malakas naman makina niya kaya di mo rin naman halos makita difference sa hatak. I tried it on and off going up the Tagaytay-Talisay road. Kayang-kaya yung akyatan even with Eco-mode ON. With the Eco-mode ON, it has a tendency to upshift much quicker (in AT) and boost comes earlier at 1800-2000rpm.
