Guys is Total diesel much better for Sorento as Kia recommends it to use? Found it in the my sorento

I always thought Total lubricants was recommended by KIA Philippines, but there's this guy who insists that ZIC is the oil they use in the casa.

i think its just for Engine oil (at least in the Phil.).... last time i saw Kia Pasay switching fm. ZIC oil to TOTAL....not sure about other Dealerships though....

Has anyone tried installing sound deadening on our sorentos? I am planning kasi to have it installed by ziebart. Ever since i bought my mazda my wife could not help but compare and has been complaining about the road and engine noise of the sorento. Sabi ko may remedy naman for that. Cost quoted by Ziebart is P7950 for the floor board, engine bay firewall and 2 front doors. Then i will just buy more deadening material to DIY the 2 rear doors if needed.

hi fellow sorento owners. Can you recommend me any good and AFFORDABLE parts store for our sorento? I have an 06 model sorento crdi and a 2014 2.2 7 seater. Unfortunately, I think my 06 model needs to have it's piston rings replaced. Any shops you know that carry our parts I really appreciate the help. Ang mahal kasi ng mga na canvas ko piston rings nasa P5,000 for just the crdi sorento 06.

3000RPM above. other than that ok naman sya. hehe. pero pansin ko nga ang FaceLifted Sorento mas madami

2012 lx 4x2 lang. Di ko kasi need 4x4 at the time and especially it replaced a 4x4 gen 2 sta fe that never even once left pavement. Ok naman so far, no problems and no unmet expectations knowing we were buying a kia. In fact it exceeded pa nga in many ways. My wife only complains about the engine noise (which as i said became more noticeable after we bought the mazda) and that sometimes there is accelerator delay which can be explained by the adaptive tranny. Now she has learnt to take it to nlex once a month to floor it after which she is happy again hehehe.

Sir parakito, i can turn off the hu on the bt50 and not hear the engine on idle up to about 1600 rpm. Only when the turbo kicks in does the engine noise become perceptible. Sa sorento idle pa lang dinig na e.

Salamat sa info boss. I'm looking for an SUV/CUV that can fit our needs. The Fortuner, which I was seriously considering before was a damn big disappointment. Anyway, that's another story. First time buying a Korean (if ever), so I'm into research mode at the moment.

^^ A real 4x4 suv or a softroader 4wd/awd? Almost all the midsized suv out there are 4x4 wannabes lang. Pag 4x4 talaga you'd be looking at a 2.8 TB at the very least, problem lang (yata) ang parts and service. May lsd ba ang 2.8 TB same as the 2.8 Colorado? One thing lang masikip ang TB compared to the sorento/sta fe by about 4-5 inches. I would not recommend the 2015 ford everest, what with the turbo and powertrain problems that it is sure to inherit from the ranger.

Kung softroader if the old models will be our gauge then ok na ok ang sorento. Mababa lang nga ground clearance ng 2015 compared to the older ones.

I'm also factoring in vehicle size, as my wife will be driving it most of the time. The Sta. Fe is just too expensive in AWD trim.

Sold my tucson (although 2wd gas) recently and replaced it with a 2wd sorento (diesel). just to help you out sir:

1.) Toys/Kit of AWD tucson should be better than the AWD Sorento (steering controls, touch screen radio?, tonneau cover, LED Tails etc.). Not sure about the discounts for the tucson but baka you might be able to get both units for the same price after discounts (i think up to 100k discounts for sorento)

2.) Space goes to the sorento, obviously. Ginormous trunk space (you can also try to add a 3rd row later on). rear a/c vents. from the exterior, the sorento definitely looks bigger and has a more commanding presence

3.) Power - should even out (sorento has the 2.2 li vs tucson's 2.0 but is heavier). coming from the gas tucson, ang layo ng difference. i'm actually scared to floor it coz it lurches forward very quickly and angrily.

4.) build quality - i must say, the kia feels tighter and better built. although it has a noisier engine (gas vs diesel), it rides better imo.

5.) The sportage crdi is cheaper than the tucson, but i think only comes in 2wd. this should, however, be the most economical among the three if you throw it in the mix. kit should be more or less similar to the tucson.

6.) dash lighting lang takes a bit of getting used to for the sorento (red kasi yung theme niya vs. hyundai's blue). but masanay ka rin i suppose.


regarding the size, it's not such a dramatic difference between the two cars, but the interior and cargo space is a whole lot. so for me, i choose the sorento. actually maliit cargo space nung tucson for me, di kasya nang pahiga some large suitcases.

Sorento na. Wala lang yata ready made tow hitch receiver na pang sorento, pa-fabricate ka pa. Sabagay wala din pang-tucson.

I used to think that since the Tucson is smaller, my wife would like to drive it more, guess I was wrong, she likes to drive my 2wd sorento better than the awd diesel Tucson I bought for her. In my case I like driving the diesel Tucson as its engine is more quiet (both at idling and under hard acceleration) than the sorento. It also doesn't vibrate as much as the sorento when at idle. Ride comfort I have to give it to the sorento. The Tucson is bouncier, and space inside smaller
