I always used to do at least 120KpH coming back from SBMA sir Bloo and haven't had any speeding tickets issued.

The stretch from Dinalupihan to Floridablanca is said to have some cameras/ speed radars, though I haven't seen any.

Just watch out for the roving yellow patrol cars, you'll see them from a distance and can slow down if needed. Just don't go past 120 and you should be fine.

The Sporty just begs to go faster doesn't it? Yesterday I needed to go from Mabalacat to San Fernando and didn't even notice I had almost gone beyond 100 in just a few seconds. I need to re-train my foot while I'm breaking her in.

Going here to Subic yesterday, I was chatting & enjoying the view. I didn’t even notice I was in 120 already. Always happens here in SCTEX, not too many cars to pace with. There was also is bike who blasted past me, going maybe 180.

Don’t worry too much about the speed, just don’t go beyond 3,000 rpm & vary your speed, slow & fast during the break-in.

The Clark South to Floridablanca is pretty much a no restriction zone. This is where I give my rides the stretch their legs need. How fast can your nerves handle or your car can do? Hehehe

Floridablanca to Dinalupihan, you should speed with caution but the enforcers would usually place themselves at the sweeping bend before the Dinalupihan exit. Driving back towards Floridablanca, you should be fine on that long straight.

At night though, you can blast it all the way from Dinalupihan to Clark South.

Roger that sir Bloo, that's what I recall my Dad saying as well, never go beyond 3000 RPM, change speeds from 80-100KpH once in a while if you're on the highway/expressway and it should be good.

True that Master E. Night time is actually easy to really speed up because there are no patrols and I guess the cameras can't pick up the speeders as well.

Just to be on the safe side, we always do a break at the rest room stop if we do any speeding, that way our ticket won't show how fast we took the road, hehe.

I won't say how fast I've ever gone on the SCTEX, needless to say that at the time, I was driving a friend's European car which had 8 cylinders. But that was just once and I promised the wifey I would never do it again.

The NLEX/SCTEX system is not wise enough to calculate average speed from your point of entry to your point of exit. There were a few times I drove quick enough at night time that I was able to do Clark to Paranaque in an hour and a half, Floridablanca to Paranaque in two hours.

What Euro car? V8 NA or with a turbo? Most Euro cars have an electronic limit of 255 kmh. I am guessing you flogged it to its limits. Hehehe

A friend related to me that during the early days of the SCTEX they did, he was ticketed just when he was about to go out through the SBMA exit. This was in 2010 I believe.

It was a 2-door Merc with a Kompressor Master E, owned by one of the big bosses up in Clark. Sadly, his company closed due to financial troubles.

To do Clark-Paranaque in 1.5 hrs is fantastic, that must have been really late at night or very early in the morning like 3AM or so?

I have a brother who lives in Sucat, the best time I ever did was 2 hrs. and we did that run at 12MN-2AM on a weekday.

Finally had a chance to vacuum her today and saw that they forgot to remove the white plastic tape covers for the 2 pedals. LoL!

I don't really pay much attention to such covers so I didn't notice it myself until today.

I did it twice on weekend nights, about an hour and a half from Clark (Friendship intersection) to Paranaque (BF Homes) via SCTEX-NLEX-EDSA-SLEX-Sucat. We left around 1030pm and we arrived already in BF Homes by 12 midnight. The other time, it was around 1115pm when left Clark and I was in BF Homes around 1245am.

From Basa Air Base within Floridablanca, we once drove back to BF Homes in 2 hours (10pm to 12am) using my Fiesta Ecoboost on a weekday night. I was blasting the small hatchback with four of us (my wife and her two siblings) around 150kmh continuously from Floridablanca exit to NLEX and a steady 120kmh thru NLEX. From that time on, my brother-in-law couldn't even think of lending me his Civic RS. hehehehe

I wonder what your times are with the Fozzie XT Master E, dare I ask?

One time I drove the 2.4L Ravie from Clark to Subic and got 25 mins, but that was because everybody else in the car was asleep. Hihihi.

I used the FXT on those 90-minute drives from Clark to Paranaque. Hehehehe

25 minutes from Clark to Subic is quite quick already. A paced drive from Balintawak to Subic will be around 2 hours via NLEX and SCTEX.

    Hahaha, I thought so.

Personally though, I think I've more or less graduated from speeding so much, gone are the days when one's only responsibility was oneself. No kids, no obligations, no monthly payments, staying out as late as you want, eating and drinking whatever was put in front of you.

The "Family Car" is exactly that, for the family.

Still, I can't wait until I finish the first 1000K on my Sporty, have the oil changed, all the bolts tightened, filters replaced or cleaned and off we will go to Sagada maybe after the rains.

Would be interesting to see if ACI changes their first o/c rules. It was every 5k or 6 months, irregardless.

I specifically asked my local dealer if I could have the oil changed during my 1K PMS sir Bloo, they agreed of course, more revenue for them. I know it's probably unnecessary, but it's always been my habit, especially for a new car. Better peace of mind, so to speak.

They also mentioned the every 5K or 6 mos. PMS after. So I guess the directive stays.

Took me an hour thirty from Subic to Balintawak but two hours & 30 min from Balintawak to Parañaque. There are now cops stationed under the overpass before Floridablanca. It’s not easy maintaining 100 in SCTEX. Subconciously, I keep pushing & pushing since some of the cars are doing 100 in the slow lanes. Fastest in a stretch was 140, which is effortless with the Sportage. In the NLEX, pacing was easier with cars around doing 100 at most & here, FE is better.
FYI, fuel is P4-5 cheaper in Subic than Manila.

1.5 hrs from SBMA to Balintawak is fast for me, is taking the Mindanao Ave. route not advisable sir Bloo?

The patrol car on SCTEX stops at different areas just so motorists are aware. But I think sometimes they just leave the vehicle there just as a warning because one time I saw the driver locking the pick-up truck and riding off in another vehicle, hehe.

140KpH on the Sporty during the stretch should be a breeze I imagine. I can see myself doing that and more on the Concepcion to Rosales portion on the TPLEX.

I used to pass through there, but the roads are too small, trucks pass through there cause they are banned in EDSA & too many U Turn slots.

Oh I would never do it in areas where we know the cameras and watchers are located bruh, and never when the wifey and the kids are on board.

Ah ok, I always use C-5 kasi when we need to go to my brother's house near San Martin De Porres, but usually on Sundays only so there's less trucks.

Good observation about the U-turns now though, naging pointless yung shortcut.
