Same specs ng Theta II EX.

Hindi naman ako nagsasawa sa looks ng Tucson ko, wala ako kapareho eh pero sa totoo lang mas pogi talaga Sportage, just not.. the back

At naka-projector na ang Sportage, unless you want a quad set up ;)

Basta yung Sportage R-eVGT EX 2WD, sulit yan. Value for money. Ako na nagsasabi. Nagmukhang....... ang Tucson R-eVGT GL.

Actually after looking at the pics of your Tucson and Sportage, mas gusto ko talaga itsura ng Tucson, inside and out. Medyo aggressive kasi masyado for me yung Sportage.

Hmm isip isip tuloy. Just a week ago simple lang eh, GL CRDi lang, ngayon may ganito pala.

Yes naka halogen pa. IMO it doesn't make a very big difference kung ipapa-retrofit ko pa yan. I won't spend another 20K for the headlights.

But with the Sportage, kaya na namin HID on stock projectors.

Sa totoo lang matutuwa ako kapag Tucson ang pinili mo, you can be a part of our club.

Hmmm... Tough situation, if i were to put myself into jut703's shoes. Both are very similar in terms of features and function, and both are potent. The Tucson might be more common (unless you get the Premium model, like SG) because it's been out in the market for a while. The Sportage is catching up in terms of vehicles running around in the metro coz Kia now has units.

It's probably now all a matter of taste. IMO, the Sportage is more butch and macho, while the Tucson is more svelte and smooth.

If you were to get the Sportage, surely you can slap on a set of HIDs on those projectors, and you'd get very good lighting. AFAIK, the Sportage's projectors, though intended initially for halogens, produce good output for HIDs. Sure they're no FXR's like SG's (iba na talaga ang maging sukatan ng Tucson), but they should light your way quite well.

I know SG's problem with H4's. Somehow with smaller enclosures (H7, etc.) you can get away with not as much glare using HIDs. But slap that HID bulb on ah H4 enclosure, and more often than not, you will get massive glare even if aimed relatively lower. So, if you do get the Tucson, line up for an HID retrofit. Look into Morimoto H1's, aside from the A3 and FXR's. They're good too.

Salamat sa insights. May oras pa naman pumili, di pa naman urgent yung purchase - from the pictures mas pogi talaga interior ng Tucson, tapos yung exterior, for some reason torn ako. Dati sabi ko mukhang hito yung harap ng Tucson, but with time it grew on me, especially pag naka-projectors. Yung Sportage striking yung itsura, but when the dust settles, it's not really better than the Tucson - it's just a different approach.

Hindi pa ko nakaka-test drive ng Sportage, so there's still the interior fit and finish and the drive that I've got to comment on. Does it drive any differently from the Tucson? Power will obviously be identical (unless malaki yung difference ng pagiging FWD lang), pero yung handling, may difference kaya? OK naman ako sa handling ng Tucson, siyempre not as refined as a sedan, but it's predictable and natatantsa ko naman kung malapit na mag-understeer.

Last thing, about the projectors, hindi naman nakaka-glare kahit derecho HID na yung projectors without sir gary's retrofits 'no? So HID bulbs nalang bibilhin ko? Kung walang glare sa ibang tao and minimal lang yung output difference, ipambibili ko nalang ng ibang bagay yung pampa-retrofit if ever

Tough choice sir ! Pero kahit ano piliin mo you wont go wrong, win win situation yan. sa dust naman, kung matyaga ka maglinis o mag pa carwash wala ka.naman prob, lahat naman ng kotse nadudumihan at pag madumi pumapangit tignan hehehe. its just a matter of how long will u let your car remain dirty. Pero tsaka mo na isipan yan hehehe.
    Good.luck sa.pag pili sir.

*jut : Ako I've made a decision na talaga if ever palarin ako at may bumagsak na pera out of nowhere, for 2WD I'll go with the Sportage. Kung Premium, well.. dun ako mahihirapan. The Tucson Premium from a stand still looks very good, same goes with the Sportage so mahirap talaga kung premium.

I like the Tucson, a relative has one (GLS non-premium Theta II) tapos ilang beses na rin ako umuupo sa showroom units when I was still checking out the Accent. Maganda siya, but after seeing the Sportage... damn. Nag-iba eh. At first the Sportage didn't look good, but after quite some time it grew on me.

Ang laban mo nalang naman dito jut is looks-wise eh, diba? Personally Sportage ako... in white or orange please. :classic:

Sir. would you care to explain bakit nagsisisi yung kapatid mo sa sportage?! Still undecided up to now kung ano ang kukunin ko e. TIA

Pero syempre the R-eVGT would be more lethal.

Kasi sana inintay nalang yung R-eVGT. I know 7.5km/L on a 2 liter CUV isn't bad. Pero hindi pa satisfied ang kapatid ko.

Magagalit nga daw siya pag kumuha ako ng white Sportage R-eVGT 2WD :hysterical: first choice color niya tapos CRDi pa. Ha-ha!

Right now looks kasi hindi ko pa naddrive yung Sportage. Tucson CRDi palang, pero 4x4 kasi yun, though I doubt the drivetrain makes a big difference in road-handling.

Exterior yung tabla pero interior Tucson talaga eh. If ever, white naman yung kukunin (huhu another white car to maintain).

*SG: Kung Tucson 4x4 R-eVGT vs Sportage 4x2 R-eVGT, ano mas maganda handling? Does the lighter weight of the 2WD Sportage make it more fun in the corners, or mas stable ba yung Tucson kasi may 4x4?

Mas maganda traction ng Tucson 4WD. AFAIK there's a difference between 4X4 and 4WD.

Tucson is only 4WD. Torque on Demand lang yan.

Pwede V-Kool OEM series or V-Kool Signature series. Ranges from P5.8K to 7.5K

I would choose the Sportage R-VGT. Sobrang sulit kasi yun price for the engine and unique pa since there are very few Sportage owners right now. Kung yun Grand Starex na VGT masarap i-drive, what more if SUV pa.

Sayang walang traction control yung GL R-eVGT

The Tucson GL R-eVGT weighs 1,611 kg, while the Sportage 2WD EX Theta II weighs 1492 kg.

Feature wise, the Tucson doesn't have a leather steering wheel, heated side mirrors, leather door trim and illuminated visors. All minor stuff I can live without.

Aside from the price difference and the looks (subjective kasi), ano pa advantage ng Sportage? Coin flip nalang
