I'm now thinking maybe I should increase it to 2000-2500, given that the vehicle's weight is heavier. Do I make sense with my question? (And, yes, I sometimes think too much about it.) LOL!
I got what you means, you are trying to find out the optimum RPM range to obtain the most fuel efficient, may be we need the datasheet of your 2.0 thelta II engine plus that of the transmission hehe.... sir, better forget muna ang FC ang enjoy the our sporty

Back to your theory... at 1000 - 1500 rpm normally consume less fuel than at 2000 - 2500 rpm, but it will be slower and reach the same distance for longer time.

*Mikkiw, have you try to compare your manual FC computation with the FC display from our sporty? are they close?
Yes sir. It is close minsan 18-20l/100KM and sa manual computation nasa 4.5-5.5km/l. Around that range. Thanks!

Very nice FC, is that 2.4L? By the way a little out of topic: My 1.8 GLS Elantra can do on flat expressway a maintained speed of 100-110 KPH with 5.3 - 5.6L/100Km FC in the trip monitor, only driver on board Seating in a long traffic jam gives a bad FC though Haaay bwisit na trafic sa metro manila, malakas bumutas ng bulsa.

Sarap talaga FC sa pure highway/expressway reading... try not resetting the FC meter for 100km or more to have more realistic FC.

    Hi guys.

how's your holy week break? saan nakarating ang sportage niyo?
it's obvious guys that you are still on the road (walang nagpo post eh). Well, keep on moving and enjoy the ride.

got back early. just did visita iglesia via the laguna loop. quite an experience, amplified by the fact that i drove the sportage, the 2011 Crossover Car of the Year!:1stplace:

noticed that FC is the trending topic lately.
allow me to share my FC.

my current FC is between 11~12 Km/L. (2.0 A/T FWD)
    looks OK, right?
    how do i achieve it?

    first, the uncontrollables...
    1. my daily route is 80% highway and 20% national road
    2. road condition is good (flat) and generally, traffic is light at any given time.
    3. these result to lesser stop& go situations.

    then, the controllables...
    1. driving speed between 80~90 KPH.
    2. maintain rpm * 2000
    3. aircon setting: fan speed - 1 / cool - normal ( malamig pa naman when i leave home at 7am)
    4. tire pressure: 33 psi ( i use Nitro air )
    5. i travel light ( 2 pax max, no luggage except lap tops )
    6. i leave home early. this allows me less pressure on the road. if you travel late, and rely on the speed of your sportage, the heavier you step on your gas pedal, and the more you consume gas.
    7. i use e-pass tag. this allows me to avoid the stop&go mode at ticket exits. normally, you spend at least 10 minutes just to pass through.
    8. i upgraded my stock 3M tint. choose tint that blocks effectively the heat of the sun, without compromising road visibility. this blockage creates a cooler inside feel of your car, and there is no need to set your A/C at higher settings, thus improving your FC.

i have to admit though that i deviate from my habits above when i go out of town with family/relatives/friends. it's hard to remain humble and FC conscious when all you get are praises for your sportage. i drive my sportage with gusto and forget FC for a while.

i once read that the best engine condition starts when you reach 50,000 km. since most of our engines are relatively new, the best condition or peak is yet to come (as oppose to the gas prices!). for the meantime, it is best to follow religiously the PM schedule and adjust your driving habits to improve your FC.

am sure, a lot of sportage owners here have better FC improvement practices, so, paki share na rin.

    drive safely everyone.
    see you on the road.

No problem sir! Pasay and Congressional are ok. They allow you to bring your own oil and look at your car while being serviced.

I usually use Mobil1 but I prefer using it if every 10000km yung palit.

First love ba Napansin ko lang ang DRL ng sportage along the road may dalawa klase ba? yon isa kita mo "per bulb" niya maliliit, yon isa parang fluorescent lamp even ang color. Observe ko lang sa mga nakasalubong ko sportage.
