as per service manual, wala ngang throttle body, diretsong turbo charger after ng instake assembly.
After cleaning MAF sensor, instake house and mount of turbo ayun mabilis na mag start mili seconds lang. Feel ko mas gumanda takbo. I need to clean EGR valve next weekend.
Kakaadik mag DIY. Plan to take weekend classes sa Meralco Foundation for Automotive Servicing Courses by March![]()
Hi Guys,
May nag EGR blanking na ba dito? Gusto ko sana DIY yung sakin since may nabibiling plate sa EBAY. Pwede bang makita ang pic kung meron man. Thanks![]()
Guys, just a friendly reminder to mind your belts, especially for those who bought second hand. My drive belt was shredded on my way to Antipolo, uphill on Sumulong Highway at 10pm no less. Apparently part of it somehow got tangled with the timing belt beside it, shredding it as well. I had to have it towed to Kia E. Rod. the next day and have them replace 3 belts, 2 tensioners, 3 idler bearings, 2 crankshaft oil seals, 1 camshaft sensor and 1 alternator pulley for a whopping total of Php 52647.09. This is apparently a pretty common occurence for them. Our Carnival currently has 70tkms on the clock, and we bought it last year at 68tkms. Apparently the belts were supposed to be replaced at 60tkms intervals for this model. So what was supposed to be a fairly easy and cheap job of replacing a drive belt which costs just 1k turned out to be a major PITA due to ignorance and negligence.

Wow!
Do you mean ALL BELTS must replaced at 60KM?![]()
Hi Guys!
Meron na ba nakapag DIY ng head cover gasket replacement ng second gen CRDI?
Thanks,![]()
^Definitely! One of the most practical vehicles I have ever had the pleasure of driving.
Very comfortably seats 8 (or 10 in a pinch) plus cargo space for everyone's luggage. 3rd row folds flat while 2nd row folds and tumbles (or is easily removed) providing a cavernous loading bay that puts any pickup to shame. Powerful turbo diesel engine resides under the hood and can still keep up with the latest engines, not to mention has good tuning potential too. As with any other car, if well taken care of, it will last a long time...

Mas mahal na pala ang carnival kaysa sa odyssey!

Hi All,

front lower arm bushings. all McPherson struts have this issue, bushings just simply fail. you're lucky marami parts sa fronte. check how fast the ac cools the cabin. old ac compressors need new oil too. change the coolant. this will prolong the radiator life.

If you backread, you will see all the trials and tribulations I went through with ours. [emoji23] Suspension problems however were not included among them (besides having to replace stab links and worn out shocks, but that was it).
Pay attention to the way it starts. Alternator is one of the things to look out for. Make sure the battery has enough amperes as well. Power locks fail early. If they haven't already been replaced at this point, it can be anytime now. Since you're buying used, better to replace all the belts along with the fluids and filters. I learned this the hard way.
Finally, the Carnival has very good engine performance especially considering its size and weight. Pedal response is a tad delayed, but acceleration should be linear, light and brisk all the way to the redline even without flooring the pedal. If it does not behave this way even after doing all the maintenance work, I suggest Revive cleaning treatment available in Central Diesel or Atoy Customs. Night and day difference!
