My unit now almost 4 years and 55,000 KM....Changed Batt for the 2nd time with AC Delco 100 amps so far so good. Just today I found a small crack in the windshield near the car ID number just under the wiper, driver's side. Nasa inside yung crack I don't know why....check your unit.
I installed a rubber spring absorber at the back and big improvement sa ride.
I don't remember the brand basta 5,500 for the whole thing....sa front Korean brand and China sa rear.
Worth buying pa ba ang Carnival SWB AT? Di ba magpapalit na ng bagong model next year? I have to buy a new ride and choice ko is this or the Innova.
Hello Garci! (Sorry couldn't help it.)
Anyhow, ang balita sa US is Kia will not be revamping the Carnival. They're not going to kill it off yet, but they won't be replacing it with an all new model. Eventually, they'll be replacing it with a different van altogether.
IMO, it's the LWB or bust. No offense to SWB owners here. I'm sure you have your reasons for getting a SWB unit. I'm just saying that parang hindi ma-maximize yung SWB, unless you only want to sit 5 and have some generous cargo space.
Stepping back, I recall having this conversation with my tita over 3 years back, when she was choosing a replacement for her earlier Sedona. She ended up with the LWB. She was thinking of scrimping a bit and getting the SWB, but I told her, the LWB's last row allows for maximum people carrying or max cargo. Considering she brings with her a wheelchair 90% of the time, she's driven around town, with a personal nurse, work stuff, etc, sulit na sulit.
Straight up against the Innova, the SWB is more comfy and car like. 3rd row space is not like the LWB, but it should rival the Innova's. However, unlike the LWB's, the SWB's 3rd row does not fold flat into the floor, and unlike the Innova's it does not fold out of the way. You need to have a conscious decision on whether or not to keep those seats there. So, if it's max 5 folks coz may cargo, pwede, but for flexibility, not really a good idea.
I think there's a previous post to this thread where Kia made a statement that they will not be releasing a new Carnival next year. I expect the new one to arrive on our shore by late 2014.
The only thing that worries me about this is baka the new Carnival turns out so gorgeous that I would be so envious hehe and magpalit agad ako. Parang same case with how the new Sportage turned out compared to its predecessor.
Same question here: worth buying ba ang Carnival SWB AT? (as of now wala pa stock ang AT).... space for me is ok (even though flexibility is not there per IMn29)... cost of maintenance (mdyo expensive but can manage)... FC average (ok lang coz i only average 7,500 km yearly
May mga thread kasi dito like the rotor disc and other parts nasira agad...
Please give feedbacks.... i already made a reservation... 5k lang naman but refundable..THANKS
I think it's worth buying. I'm not familiar with the complaint you mention about the rotor disc but I think that is something easily preventable by religious trips to the casa for PMS. Unless it is really a lemon, I've had a friend who owns for quite a number of years na and wala namang complaints from him about his Carnival.
I think the brake rotor was a problem in the earlier Carnivals. This was subsequently corrected. I have a 2008 model and the problem arose after 1 year. The brake rotors were replaced under warranty, and the problem has not recurred.
Thank you sir/s...... waiting for the availability of the new arrival.
I just hope the kids will enjoy the ride and space..
*Chance , mahaba ba pila para sa Carnival?
Anong preferred colors nyo sa Carnival? I think 3 colors lang ata available, black, white and red. Tama ba?
By the way, anyone knows if the Carnival is CBU from Korea?
cross fingers! :-) Sana may "new" features dito sa batch na 'to. Congrats on your ride sir.
