Napaka hands on nyo naman bro! Hanga ako!

Hindi ko lang alam kung ano ang magiging sound quality kapag yan ang pinaltan mo. China unit ba yan? Yung Carnival kasi ng kamag anak ko nilagyan ng China na touchscreen head unit. Dami features, including TV tuner pa at Bluetooth noong hindi pa yun ganon kasikat. Peri ang sound ang pangit! Parehong OEM ang speakers namin ah.

^Yung pinaltan ko OEM. Wala kasi mahanap na ibang brand at the time. Hahanapan sana ako ng KYB. No complaints with the performance of the OEM though.

    Hello sirs!

New carnival owner here, bought a 2009 Carnival EX CRDI LWB.

First diesel car ko ren so may mga bago sa alam kong maintenance.

From what I found online, yearly (10k km or so) is change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter.

Every 6mos (5k km or so) change oil and oil filter.

    Tama ba?

    Tnx!

Congrats on your new purchase sir! Are you enjoying the car?

Does your car still have its owner's manual? All important maintenance information are written there. But the most important parts for me would be change oil and oil filter every 5tkms, change air filter every 10tkms, fuel filter every 20tkms, and have all other fluids checked during every maintenance interval.

    Salamat sirs!

Yup im enjoying it, my first diesel so im loving the torque hehe though pansin ko it wont shift up until it hits 2k sa rpm. Should I be concerned?

Otherwise the previous owner maintained it very well. Im just expecting the usual kinks since its 8 yrs old though wala pa naman everything works great

    Thanks!

I've extensively driven two Carnival's already, and I noticed that it actually has a habit of shifting at 3000rpm from 1st to 2nd gear. I have to put it in manual mode to coax it to shift at the usual 2000rpm. Worth noting that one of the Carnival's is chipped, and it shifts significantly earlier though.

Brakes are also inherently heavy. They work fine, but the pedal effort takes some getting used to.

How much has your unit ran already?

I have 82+++ on the odo. I guess its the lack of overdrive on the tranny?

Other than that just belt squeaking when i turn on the aircon. No other issues.

Im looking forward to putting some hiway miles on it soon hehe

    Thanks!

Did some googling and didnt find a good answer.

Whats the best way to do this? Am hesitant to disconnect the battery as that might require a manual reset of the alarm system, tama ba?

    Thanks!

Better have the squeaking checked ASAP. I used to have that too. Shrugged it off as a minor issue. After continued use for a couple of weeks or so, turned out with a burnt magnetic clutch in the AC compressor. AC just conked out all of a sudden. While we were out of town too! Cost an arm and a leg to repair. Almost had to replace the whole compressor too if they hadn't found the right part at the last minute. This happened to me at 68tkms.

I've always thought this was its "default" setting. It would shift at 3000 from 1st to 2nd but would proceed to shift at 2000 on the succeeding gears, as if it just needed to build that initial momentum. Both Carnival's I've driven, one 2010 and the other 2011, both LX LWB, shift the exact same way. The 2010 unit was later on installed with a Unichip Q4, increasing max output by 28whp and 63ft-lbs, which lowered the initial shifting to around 2000-2500rpm.

How is this resetting done? This is actually the first I've heard of it.

this is for most hyundais but this is suggested for newly replaced transmission fluid.

warm the transmission as said on step 1. and go thru the sequence the steps. note throttle position...

Kaya pala mahal ng bili nyo sa Fuel Filter kasi built in na sa FUEL PUMP assembly, you have to replace the whole FUEL PUMP..

anyway sa mga naghahanap ng SERVICE MANUAL eto for KIA CARNIVAL 2006-2009 (i think pwede rin up to 2013 model basta 2nd generation) Download here: Microsoft services

I have a relative who has a 2011 Carnival. At 28tkms, the check engine light was lighting up upon rapid acceleration and would be gone upon engine restart, with no error codes when plugged with diagnostic tool. Fuel filter replacement instantly solved the problem. Apparently it was the first time it was replaced, and Kia recommended a 20tkms interval.

Regarding HU, I replaced it with a Pioneer AVH-295BT. Its not a very high model, but has all the features I need. Sound quality is very, very good. Speakers have never been changed.

Afaik fuel filter is stand alone. Nasa left side ng engine bay pag naka harap ka sa auto sir. Sa pag silip ko, when replacing the filter no need to touch the pump.

    Thanks!
