    "LOSS OF POWER"
    iyan po ang naramdaman ko na sintomas before, i was going downhill at a 40 kph then i just lost power, you may step on the accelarator but RPM just goes up till 1500 and just keep comin down...it cost me around 90k for everything...
    just an advice to fellow carens owner, try cleaning the EGR every now and then, for, basing from my own investigation, thru the help of some KIA mechs from Baguio and MM, the problem started on the dirty EGR...

    I just had my unit seviced Dec. 26 in Pasig then lost my turbocharger 28th of Dec... Sakit ng ulo po na malaki...

    ask ko lang--- talaga bang maingay ang makina ng ng carens crdi sa unang start sa umaga? then unti-unting pipino habang lumalapit sa operating temp?

    sir seisman, at which interval are you proposing this EGR cleaning, every 20k kasabay ng fuel filter or mas maikling interval pa?

    im nearing 60k and im planning to have the ff done in casa: 1) fuel filter replacement 2) EGR cleaning and 3) tune up. yung usual na change oil at oil filter, ill have it done sa local talyer lang

    hi Guys, sorry tagal din ako di naka post dito, medyo busy kasi eh, anyway, i went to kia bacolod last week and meron dun isang carens na busted din ang turbo, yung owner daw kasi di nag cool down before turning off the engine, till now di pa daw dumating ang parts from korea, almost 1 month na yata naka standby dun.

    Also, pina check ko din carens namin kasi may kalampag sa suspension, una they changed the stabilizer link kasi sira na, but after changing it, nandyan pa rin ang kalampag, upon checking again, yung stabilizer rubber bushing naman daw, now, im waiting for the parts, sabi daw maybe this week dumating.

    i think that would be the best time to clean your EGR,say between 20-30 thousand kilometers, i forgot to mention that after a week that my turbo was changed, i had to change my cleaned EGR as well due to a leak naman....now my unit is as good as new in terms of power!

    wala po kasing spare na EGR when i was in baguio at kung meron sana ay definitely i would have changed it kasabay ng turbo...

    if i were you better bring youre unit to a casa ing cleaning your EGR and let them do it,masyadong sensitive ang EGR at contact cleaner lang pwedeng panlinis

    egr is just a tube with a valve to control the inlet of exhaust gas to the intake.... baka pag madumi ang egr eh hindi gaano makapasok yung exhaust gas.. tapos na sense ng engine at too much oxygen ayun i-open ng husto yung egr of worse, mag reduce ng fuel injection ang ecu to prevent nox...resulting low power

    Mga sir, my carens again is experiencing the same problem after i replaced the fuel filter hoping that it would be the remedy for it.

    During mornings, around 2km drive away from home, the engine dies when driving at low rpm. When I try to turn it on again, The rpm is doesn't even reach 1k rpm. I put some gas on it, but ayaw magrespond ng engine in proportion sa accelerator. Mausok po (white) depending on how heavy i step on the pedal.

    I think no fuel is coming inside the engine. I already had it serviced sa KIA. Nawala for awhile but now bumalik na naman. Anyone experienced the same problem? Should i let the fuel tank get cleaned up? Please help. More power. THanks.

    My carens is A/T Crdi. 25k odo reading. Just had my PMS last dec.

    Is egr the culprit? sana isama din ito sa pms program ng kia to avoid this type of problem.

    im not sure kung meron fuel pump ang carens crdi (pero malamang meron) pa check mo muna yung fuel pump located sa fuel tank

    I hope that it is not your Turbo that is busted, same symptom i got when i got my busted turbo,better have it checked immediately..

    Syempre may fuel transfer pump yan, usually nasa loob ng fuel tank.
    Not sure of this but you can try loosening up ang inlet ng fuel filter then turn the ignition key just before the start position. This will make the fuel transfer pump to run and fuel will leak through the previously loosened fuel fittings. Pag mahina ang labas possible may bara ang suction side ng High Flow Transfer Fuel Pump. Just my thought.

    ganyang ganyan ang mga naramdaman ko bago ko nawala turbo ko, i hope na di turbo mo ang may problema.... napa -check mo na ba unit mo????

    Yes sir, Theres a leak on the hose from the fuel filter since i got it replaced. Inayos na po and they also upgraded my ECU firmware. THank God wla pa naman problems agen. I already got my EGR cleaned last october 2011.


    FOR EVERYONE: Mga sir? What car Jack are you using for your carens? Im planning to replace my since there a deffect on it already. What do you recommend?
