Just filled up my tank yesterday and the FC of my first full tank was roughly 9.5km/li - about 50% city, 50% highway. Not bad, considering I'm still in my break-in period. I've already clocked in a little over 500kms.
Guys, the ride of the Carens is excellent! Riding in it, you wouldn't think that the vehicle is as big as it is! And, the 2nd row (according to my various passengers) is so comfy, especially with the armrests in place - parang captain seats! ...I still have to determine the ride quality in the 3rd row though.
I just have to say that it was rather disappointing to read the Carens user manual. Ang daming features dun na wala sa local version natin!! I was kinda hoping that our version would at least have the various features of the digital readout of the odometer. Based on the manual, that digital readout can do lots of things aside from clocking in your trip mileage. Apparently, it can even calculate your average mileage per liter (fuel efficiency), the distance you can still travel on your current load of fuel, and others! Cool sana! Kaso...
All in all though, I would highly recommend the Carens to anyone and everyone! :D
On a different note: Teka teka... who died and dubbed me as "Pres"? :p By the way, I'll be attending this weekend's Collectibles Convention in Megamall (yes, the kid in me is still very much alive) so I don't think I can attend an EB if there will be one... You guys are welcome to drop by the Convention though!Last edited by mqavila; June 12th, 2008 at 08:48 AM.

I saw your post in the More Than Looks forum inquiring about tints from LACars. I would just like to ask, isn't it that all Carens came with 3m tints directly from the plant? So, if you plan to change tints, will it be easy to remove the tint from the tailgate window without damaging the rear defogger?

Yeah, you're right. The Carens comes with pre-installed 3M tints but I find it too light. Mainit pa rin sa loob, especially at noon.
When I do change my tint to a darker shade, I plan to do what bro itlog na pula did with his, at least with the tailgate window. He didn't remove the existing tint... what he did was to have the new tint placed on top of the existing tint. That way, the defogger won't get damaged. As for the other windows, I guess it's okay to have them remove the existing tint.
Although, LA Cars claims that they can safely remove the tint without destroying the defogger, especially if the existing tint is fairly new. But then again, better to be safe than sorry!

June 12th, 2008 11:55 AM #1887I have an EX Crdi A/T and my odo is now about 4000 km. My FC is 9.2 city driving; Alabang to Makati CBD.
Re my tint, my SA allowed my to change for free to a darker "mirror"-like tint although the brand was not 3M. Ok naman, no bubbles so far.

June 12th, 2008 12:43 PM #1888with regard to my tint, i had it paste over the previous one. I spent around Ps 3800 for the tint.. My lx m/t is consuming around 8km/l on city driving, 14.5 km/l on highway. My km reading is around 7300 km. I fastest speed is 160kph at sctex.
Will my warranty be voided if change my steel rim to mag 15x6.5j instead of 15x6.0j, anyone from the dealer especially ace8tan, Please give advices. thanks.
another thing I noticed about the carens is its very hard to monitor the fuel consumption is because when you want to fill up to full tank, the nozzle click automatically very early,in fact I have to top it for about another 10 liters ao f fuel unlike other brand car its only 2 liter. The gasoline boy tell me its because of the small breeder. Kyo ho may ganyan experiencesba.

i kept all of my original tint intact except for the small visor tint on the windshield. you'll have to remove it kasi it'll only introduce bubbles on the bottom edge of the first tint. matatanggal din yung ipapatong mo in a year at least.
if you are able to nego to a factory/casa installed darker tint, so much the better. at least if they did remove the first tint, especially the one at the rear, if the defogger is accidentally cut in the installation, you can claim warranty!
