No need for Garci bro! The Carens' lead in Autofocus is an honest-to-goodness result of the love, determination and effort of our fellow Tsikoteers who simply believe that the Carens is the best "Minivan" in the market today.
Take me, for example, I diligently vote for the Carens each and everyday as my first item on my agenda when I open my computer in the morning... :D

Good day to all
Can somebody PLEASE HELP ME the exact PRESENT price of Carens CRDi M/T in Manila area....885K parin ba?..In our place it is already 917K...Dealer in Iloilo told us that the Manila price is 895 plus the freight and handling 22k which makes it 917..But if the present exact price in Manila is only 885K that means 32K was added..They said I can take the unit my self in Manila and they will just book it for me.Surely it will not cost me more than 8k to travel the unit from manila to roxas city via Ro-Ro (break-in narin ng unit)
Confused lang talaga kasi first price na binigay nila was 907K that make it sense for 22K added as freight,I can live with that. But then the next time my wife visited for a test drive, they told her that it was not 907k but 917kand that manila price is now 895k.
..
If we come to think of it,,just a few more cent then we can go for Innova G.But the again Innova is out of the picture, kasi kahit kaya ang price still we want the CAREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSS....
So guys,gals,sir,boss,manager,bro,sis HEEEEEELP!!!!!!!
Thanks nga pala for this thread,,,if not for this words na nababasa ko dito I would never know how CARENS fits perfectly for us.
I'll be home by the end of this month, hoping that by your help peeps it would clean my cloudy mind.
Is it worthy to take the unit from manila or I will just go on with the local price??

Sir Bannatiran, well para sa amin mga carens owners siyempre biased kami sa mga wheels namin. But we are very proud and satisfied owners. No regrets kami or almost all of us. sa exterior, interior, ride quality and power goes to our dear carens. Ground clearance, Load capacity and trunk space goes to innova.
Sir kung gusto mo ng walang biased you better go ask sir niky. niky reviews cars and nagtanong na ako sa kanya before and this is his words:
You review cars right? So if you are going to choose between the these three vehicles, which will you choose?
Niky: "Damn, tough question.
It's certainly between the Innova and the Carens... The Avanza 1.5G isn't terrible, but it's not as good as these two...
The Innova's handling is much more stable than the Carens... it has more natural understeer, and has a stiffer suspension... but the Carens has a much softer ride. The Carens doesn't handle badly, mind you... but it's got a very soft suspension and no ABS, so you should drive it carefully. I prefer my suspensions stiffer, but the Carens isn't uncomfortably soft, like the Sorento or the Starex... so it gets my thumbs up.
The Carens 6-speed shifter is sweeter than the Innova's, but I think the clutch might be on the weak side, so you'll have to baby it. If we're talking this price range, you're probably not looking at the automatic... there have been horror stories about Starex ATs, but none so for for the front-wheel drive Hyundai-Kia ATs, so it's reasonable to assume that these new boxes are reliable.
The Carens CRDi doesn't seem to be as fuel efficient as the Innova D4D... but it makes tons more power, and is possibly less sensitive to poor diesel than the D4D. It'll still notice bad diesel, though... even Hyundais and Kias start running poorly if you fill them with bad diesel... but the earliest I've heard of injectors failing is at about 130,000 kms... that's actually not bad... considering I had to replace my fuel pump and valves on one Isuzu at about 130,000 kms, too.
In the end... if you're going to put up with the hassles of owning a CRDi engine (you need to fill up only at good gas stations, and you need to be ready to change your fuel filter more often... and be ready, too, for the eventual cost of injector replacement...), you might as well get the one that makes more power. Carens for me."
If it were between the gasoline Innova and the gasoline Carens... though, I'd actually go for the Innova.
Whats the FC of innova and Carens? D4d against CRDI? Thanks.
Niky: "I really didn't have the Carens long enough to get a proper FC reading. If the test is too short, acceleration testing plays a big part in fuel consumption. But from testing this and the Tucson, which has the same engine without VGT, I'd say the Carens will do between 7-8 km/l in traffic. The Innova usually gets between 8-9 in traffic. But it'll all depend on fuel quality. Using dirty diesel on any of these cars will cause fuel consumption to rise dramatically, and will choke performance.
For example, I got the Getz for a test. Previous users used it for a fuel economy run. Don't know what corner of the Philippines they loaded up at, but when I got it, it was sluggish... felt strained at 160 km/h. Dumped injector cleaner in, and the next day my brother hit 190 km/h with no issues.
Just fuel up wisely, take car of the vehicle, and you should get good fuel consumption, whatever you buy."

Can't wait to see your pics of your leather seatcovers bro! How much did it cost? When you had your windows re-tinted, did you have them remove the existing tint? The rear window defogger wasn't damaged naman? That's my main concern if and when I end up re-tinting my upcoming Carens... If I remember correctly, bro itlog na pula posted here that what he simply did was to have them place the new tint on top of the existing tint to avoid the possibility of damaging the defogger...

Looks like much of the FC figures depend largely on who's driving it
The CRDi Carens really teases you to floor it more often. So much torque! So tempting heheh
On this issue of GOOD and BAD diesel, can anyone enlighten us diesel fans where the GOOD/BAD diesel are?
I used to have a Caltex Starcard so I load up my Crosswind only with Caltex diesel. It's been 5 years with no incident. I also added biodiesel regularly until the 1% mandated add-on was introduced.
For the Carens, so far it's been Caltex, Petron and Shell. Are these safe sources?

thanks for the info.
so for the Carens, softer suspension (like a girl ride daw)and no ABS but powerful on a dsl. For the LX 2.0 CRDi, what are the ammenities not included compared to the EX? Kasi ang ganda nung mga nasa KIA Website eh. may nabasa ako na hindi ata same yung mga ammenities compared to the ones they sell in Europe... is this true?
I used to drove an Innova dsl 2.0 (i think not yet a D4D) during our bicol trip and here in Manila and I feel it underpowered on the 1st and 2nd gear.. the handling when you're in high speed and cornering is so good and the breaking system is so smooth maybe because of the ABS.
any news if they will introduce the ABS to Carens late this year or early next yr?

Add ko lang that ABS has no impact in brake performance. ABS is only activated on hard breaking so you can steer the wheels and it won't lock.
They probably sold so few cars last year that even a 112% increase still hardly makes a change in...
