Sir, when you cleaned your EGR, is there any other tube that you cleaned too aside from what was on the picture?

I looked at it in my engine bay and it looked complicated.

How many kilometers have you traveled after you blanked your EGR?

As to the engine, I am not sure what is the engine of a 2005 Alterra pero kung DDI Iteq ung Alterra mo, for sure pareho tayo ng engine.
You took the same words from my mouth boss! Hahah.

Natatakot din ako na i blank ung egr, though advisable yun ng iba, nakaka takot pag sa kotse mo na gagawin (thats just me), parang if it ain't break dont replace it. Naiisip ko kasi na baka mag loko ung makina and mag mil and stuff like that. Maybe more reading at first hand experience pa, i might get convinced. Hahahah.

On a side note, going for 80k pms na kami, ano ba ang mga recommended works to be done? Hinde ko kasi sa casa ipapagawa.

Best oil for our 4jj1? Currently using besco, want to try other/better oil.
Transmission and gear oil, how many liters?

    Thank you.

*bugoys: Yun din naiisip ko, sir, on EGR blanking. Ok naman siya after nalinis so most likely papalinis ko nalang.

But after reading the explanation of sir d_mac, mas maganda dapat kung FS oil ang gagamitin.

I tried Isuzu's Torco and I hate it plus it's so expensive.

After that I tried Royal Purple oil from Speedyfix and I loved it. I have had 2 change oil from them already and so far so good.

I also make sure na mag change fuel filter.

I don't know how many liters kasi price lang ang nakalagay sa receipt.

Im not sure if that applies to the 4JH1 engine wherein pwedeng mineral oil ang gamitin. Well your truck has reached 250k kms so whatever you are doing, just continue it.hehe Malayo na yang 250k kms.

just a piece of advice, dont wait for your EGR to breakdown before blanking it, kasi pag nasira yon EGR, khit ipablank mo,magcheck engine ka kasi hndi na nasunod sa command ng computer yon valve on when to open or close it and you have to replace your EGR. do the blanking while your EGR is still working, you are only blocking the air that circulate at hndi nasisense ng computer kung may air o wala, as long as nagoopen/close yon valve at the command of the computer, walang check engine. yon black smoke from the tailpipe is due to the accumulated carbon at the EGR valve.

I asked sir Migs kung ok ba talaga, he said that wala naman problema kasi pasok naman sa 40 so I let them put it in my engine. I don't feel that much difference, honestly. The same talaga, makinis ang takbo. May effect na din siguro ung fuel na ginagamit ko which is Unioil.

Regarding sa pag blank/block ng EGR, si sir GS LOVER ang icontact mo, sir, maybe he could help you. He blanked his Alterra.

Same case with the SCV. And maitim talaga ang binubugang usok when the CEL/MIL is lit up. Tina try kong irev ung akin ngayon that both my EGR and SCV are working properly, at high rev, may usok pero hindi ganon kaitim. More of like dirty white lang. Pero noong nakailaw, itim talaga.

I would like to know if there are still brand new dmax boondock edition, or 2013 dmax model before this 2014 or so new model?
Mas kursunada ko yung dati before this new dmax na kalalabas, unfortunately mukhang wala na. I tried asking the sales agent at an isuzu delearship pero wala na daw. Just wondering kung may mga natira pa.
    Thanks

As brand new unit, wala na yata....

At mismo sir! ....The boxy shape always does look way better than the current mala-aerodynamic and slopey shape na akala mo lilipad. Yang shape na yan, at least for me, is the best-looking D-max design ever, especially the one with the "hood-scoop" that we Pinoys never got ;)

....Yun ngang Innova 2.5 D-4D ni esmi kada nakikita ko asiwang-asiwa ako sa shape ahihi , though the Toyota Hilux is still really OK for its boxy shape, the Fortuner and the Navara 2.5, and arguably, the all-new Ranger. Volkswagen for one, is still a patron of the boxy style (except the classic Beetle ever since, of course).... So, you might wanna wait for the truly boxy-shape pickup VW Amarok 2.0 TDi VGT when it comes to Pinas, if ever. Ayala Corporation will be opening the VW Philippines.

Going back, except for the "bungi-bunging" grille onto the 2013 D-max (just before the arrival of the "so-called" all new D-max), the 2013 looks very good.

We have two (2) boxy-shape hinD-MAXsiado, one old 4JH1-TC non-CRDi turbo-intercooled and the CRDi 3.0 Ddi-iTEQ 4JJ1-TC wastegate turbo-intercooled. The old one's odometer is now at 334,250 kilometers so far, and in good shape ;)

Sana nga hindi itinigil ang production ng previous shape D-max ----- sa totoo lang sir, mas madaming naghahanap dito na maka-Isuzu lalo na mga traditional pickup buyers, until there is no more choice for them but to buy the new-shape

    Cheers!

Lahat kaya ng 2013 models naubos? What do the dealers do sa mga hindi nabili if ever?

*jgvus: When my OEM driver side got busted, I saw that they used Philips. I wanted to use the same brand and I found one in Blade. Pretty expensive. Then when my passenger side HL got busted, I went to a car shop and they have Bosch. I want something cheaper so I tried it. Just a little more than a yr, my driver side HL got busted again. That time I went to another car shop and Michiba is the brand that they have. So I got that.

Honestly, I don't see any difference between the 3 brands when it comes to the brightness. Mas mura lang ung Bosch and Michiba.

Any commended brand will do, important is the same wattage as the other headlight if not, iba ang output.

Personally I replaced our using osram. So far so good.

Addendum: Anyone who has a copy of the parts catalog for the dmax?

    http://catalog.isuzu-astra.com/download/DMAX.pdf seems to be broken.

Thank you all for the reply. I had it replaced sa casa (q. Ave). However on the same day i was on my to the casa, nag check engine yung dmax, 1st time i even checked the manual to know what the warning was. What was supposed to be a simple bulb replacement turned out to a be financial burden as they also replaced the EGR. It's a 2010 dmax with 56k mileage.

Did you get the "old" EGR valve given to you?

The valve can be cleaned and kept as a spare for future use.

I understand that the Casa has to think about warranty on the repair and the cost efficiency of replacing the valve with a new one rather than a cleaning/repair operation. However, from your point of view, please consider an alternate solution next time that the symptoms reappear...and they will.

    Ciao!

    Uncle Nick.
