Hey, thanks a lot guys (Memphis and Dvldoc)! That certainly cleared up a lot of things about the WM injection. I hope a Dmax owner will be present at Clark for the planned demo and data gathering on the effects of the injection on different diesel engines

Ssrbogoy- i'm not really the diy guy like you hehe. I don't think I can handle to proper maintainance of the system. Might as well wait for a fixed distributor before plunging into it
Maybe Arb can do that as he's based in Bacolod and has the proper shop to go with it? hehe What about it Arb?

March 6th, 2008 01:34 PM #3677I tried back reading but naduduling na ako. Help!
My stock tires are about to need replacement.
Are there disadvantages to changing the tires to slightly wider than original?

I just replaced my D-Max's tires recently. I initially wanted to change the stock Bridgestone tires to the Goodyear Wrangler HPs that the new D-Maxs in the showrooms have but they were not available in the 3 Goodyear dealers I inquired from. I settled for Yokohama Geolandars which I got from Minerva Tire Center.

Welcome to the thread!
Disadvantages include a 'slight' decrease on the top end speed, slight difference in fuel consumption due to the larger diameter and added weight.
Advantages will include more cushion, larger rubber contact patch on the road leading to a more stable feel behind the wheel especially at high speeds.

March 7th, 2008 01:28 PM #3680thanks a lot!
planning to get WIDER tires. profile will be the same. so basically, DIAMETER will remain the same??? Just a bigger contact patch, right?
please clarify...i've always kept all my previous cars stock. save for changing the horn.
i'm very happy with my d-max. LS 4x2. Got it 2004. no complains. except -- a friend gave me pro-comp shocks for my dmax.
from what i understand, the engine failure was attributed out-of-spec components and/or...
