on the shocks, stick with OEM, KYB gas type. I dunno kung may advantage using other types pero matched yung KYB sa suspesion system ng crosswind sa harap at likod. la nang isa-swabe ang crosswind, talgang matagtag.
on the side mirror: depende kung anong type, pero baka malaglag kayo sa upuan pag nalaman nyo kung gano kamahal. yung di power, if I remember correctly, nasa 8 thou yata per piece (casa price ng Isuzu pasig), yung power window, 13 thou yata. That was 3 years ago or so.
on the maintenance, change oil every 5 thousand, replace filters (oil, fuel, and optionally, the air filter) use OEM or suitable similarly sized replacements. wag smaller or bigger. using any decent diesel engine oil will do, kahit yung pang jeepney. lang advantage using those expensive synthetic brands or even the expensive additives, believe me, i tried it... ingay pa di :D
every once in a while, add biodiesel into your fuel tank, 100ml per full tank is good enough. this is to lessen smoke emissions and clean out the fuel injection system.--w/c reminds me...malagyan na nga yung sakin ;)
on the crosswind running at 200kph?... well, meron isa sa mga kagrupo natin napatakbo nya yata ng 160 or 180 kph? ako 140 lang. downhill daw yun sa may bukidnon. if you want our crosswind to run at 200kph, better make the suspensions more stable and the steering more accurate. the front windshield is aerodynamic enough, and I guess the body would slice thru air well enough. but the suspensions are wobbly and steering is kinda loose.
palagay ko installing the alterra or dmax engine is not necessary. kelangan lang mag salpak ng matinong turbocharger kit like what the aussies have for the 4ja1, reportedly increasing the power output from 80 horses up to about 100 horses. ok na yun considering na maintain mo almost same engine weight, so yung increase ng power mo will not be negated by a corresponding increase in weight. kaso, i feel that the crosswind platform/design is probably nearing its end. like the hilander of old, baka mawala na sya, outdated, outrun, and outclassed but never outlived.
