HI turmsy you got PM
same question...how does it fare against the fuel consumption of the A/T gas variant...thanks...
wyfy and i went to a nearby hyundai dealership...
got some computations for a 30% down and 4 years to pay scheme...
was amazed kasi halos 125k na lang ang diff sa price ng crdi & gas A/T kaya nagpa-compute na din kami...
will be back for a test drive sked...

My ride is CRDi AT SU 2wd. When i brought it out from the dealer tires were inflated at 50psi so i deflated it to 30 psi as indicated on the driver's door.
My first tank full was 7km / liter city driving. traffic was so severe we rode 4hours on 30km trips.
Now its averaging about 8-9 km / liter. Milage is at 800km using petron diesel
Was advised that fuel milage will stabilize at 5k
The dealer already acknowledged this problem and replacing the same pad will not solve the problem. AFAIK, the problem is on the rear drum brakes.
I agree with previous posts that installing a "non-stock" pad might have warranty issues. It's a good idea to wait when the warranty expires.
Does anyone know a good replacement brand? Appreciate any suggestions.
BTW, where can i buy an air filter aside from the dealer?
I have a question about the tucson's keyless/entry alarm i just noticed that there is no siren i could not locate where the shock sensors are located and valet switch.
When i press the lock button on the remote the signals blink once no chirp when i press lock twice the horn honks once. Is it the same for all the others?

With regards to the alarm i just found the valet switch and was successful to reprogram my alarm to short honk once - lock then x2 kapag unlock. Nga lang i still can't find where the other components are located the Main module , Shock sensor and Siren. The Siren is usually located under the hood. while the alarm system is under the dash or behind the cowl. Anybody here knows where these components are located?
Just got a hold on a Hyundai Tucson service manual. Mukang madaling baklasin yung cowl.![]()

Hyundai Tucson Review now up!

"The horn is awkward, the left side mirror useless except as a magnifying glass for picking your teeth and the chunky rear-wiper blocks half of the small rear windsreen"
??? I find the left side mirror very useful.
hello tucson owners!
i have been following this thread closely and noted that the tucson is generally a good value for money, especially the 4x2 2.0crdi version.
my father is in the process of getting a compact suv after losing interest in the much hyped, expensive, matagtag, and basta na tumitirik na fortuner!
i suggested to take a close look at the tucson for his age since it has the benefit of backup sensors, and a host of other safety features. in addition, it is also priced very competitively at that. and if some of you may not realize, the tucson is actually shorter than some regular sedans in the market thereby making it easier to drive in the shrinking metro...
by now, i would assume most of the crdi owners would have chalked up quite a bit in the odometer to get a fairly decent measure of fuel consumption.
so guys please do post your most current FCs and odometer readings for reference of possible wannabe owners??![]()
cheers!
is there any aftermarket or replacement side mirrors na more wider sa oem.
too small ang side mirror for me.
I got my Tucson CVVT last July 2007 and am greatly satisfied w/ it!
Doing 7.2km/l and odo is 3400km. Its used mostly by my son. I use my newly bought Kia Carens EX CRDi. Hehehe... My carens is doing 9km/l so far! Mag-i-improve pa daw according to the Carens thread!
Korean cars have greatly improved in engine performance and design!!! Hopefully, we'll have no problem with the local service & maintenance.
I don't know if it's advisable. The Carens suspension is already quite soft, so if you lift it, you might be in genuine danger of rolling over.
As for me, I didn't really find the ride height a problem. It's something you just get used to. ;)
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I'm actually considering revising the article.
Apparently, Hyundai's service section seems to be negligent in regards to their test units... We're already sending them a letter regarding this.
It seems that the side mirror was broken, and possibly replaced with a piece of non convex glass. The aircon on our test unit might also not be representative... as we just returned another test-unit (a Getz), that had a weak aircon... which is weird, since my friend's Getz has pretty good AC. To top it off... the engine condition of the two said units wasn't very good... seems the marketing people don't even pay attention to oil changes and injector maintenance...
Don't worry... as soon as I sort it out, I'll retract some of those statements.
