IMHO, I'd rather get a new car since I have neither the time nor the patience for maintenance and repair. But that's just me.

I've been following this thread for quite some time now. I'm almost convinced to get one. Primary concern is fuel consumption. Gusto ko sana ang CRDI variant but with all these talks about our "dirty diesel" (from another thread), I just might choose the gas A/T variant na lang.

I own a 4x2 crdi tucson and have been gassing up in my reliable petron stations in alabang/laspinas/paranaque areas. so far the engine is performing at its best. Just ran 160 km/hr at the skyway. The tuc could have been giving more....i just ran out of road.

    Hi Black Eye,

I have the 4x2 CRDi since Feb 1, 2007. So far so good!

I don't know what you mean by "dirty diesel" but the I believe that the CRDi technology is great.

The old diesel engines are no longer being used. I used to have an Isuzu Fuego. Wala ng gumagamit ng ganoong engine. CRDi na halos lahat (or its counterpart with the other companies). Isuzu is using DMax.

As for the CRDi of Hyundai, I believe its Euro compliant kaya mas efficient at mas malakas.

With my CRDi, I'm doing around 9 km/liter. Maingat pa ako mag drive kasi bago pa yung Tucson kaya hindi ko hinahataw.

As for comparing diesel with gas, the ultimate question is: Are you willing to spend around P150k (the difference between the diesel A/T model with the CVVT M/T) more? And if you are willing, will that amount cover your savings from using diesel than using gasoline? I think the difference per liter is around P2. That's the most common question I encountered from others who were comparing the two models.

    I hope this helps.

thanks nirvblakr and jake_sioson for the feedbacks. Now, you're making me think again. Nabasa ko lang from a thread here na since sensitive daw masyado yung CRDI to fuel impurities, kaya nagkakaproblema daw yung engine ibang CRDI engines (esp. innova). Anyway, I'll be having a test drive tomorrow to see for myself kung maganda na nga ba ang diesel engines ngayon. Thanks for the link on Hyundai Tucson Club

Just a word of advise. Stay away from gas stations that you don't usually patronize. Water mixed with gas or diesel would really break down your engine regardless of what engine your car has.

That's on nice car, Nirvblakr. I really like black but after my experience with my black mazda3, I promised myself I won't buy a black car again. Ang hirap kasi i-maintain. I have to be very careful where I park my car kasi madali magasgasan.

    pm replied black eye.

Mine is also black, first black car for me. It sure is a pain to maintain, but nothing beats the classy look of a shiny black car. Washing and waxing this black ride has now been some sort of therapy for me. As a follow up to Jake's invite, hope you could join us at the Tucson club.

Thanks for the comment blackeye. I had a black corolla before which I sold but nothing really shows the shine and classiness of black. True mahirap i maintain...dalas ko nga sa carwash eh. Hehe! I really have a thing for black.

    Nirvblakr,

    Nice Ride!

May I ask where you got the accessories? Ang mahal kasi sa casa.
Waxed ba yung Tucson mo? Where did you have it done?
Did you consider replacing the wheels with 18" or 20"?

    Black eye,

I think monotone ang tawag nila doon. Please check the price. If I remember it right, mas mahal ng P5,000 kapag monotone ang in-order mo.

What I want sana ay 2-tone na warm silver (unpainted yung bumper). I don't know if that's possible kasi wala sa brochure.

    Oops! Sorry.

Monotone is one color but with additional of P5,000
Two-tone is colored top and bumper are black or unpainted.

However, CRDi's come only in monotone
