    Sir,

The stock alarm system of the Tucson does not come with a siren which would sound off whenever you arm or disarm the system, there is only a visual confirmation via the parking lights which would blink momentarily, this is similar to the stock alarm system which we have on an old 04 CRV. When the alarm is trigerred, the car horns will start blaring. You could add a siren to your unit if you want, I had mine installed by the dealership when I got my unit.

One problem which I noticed with remote car alarms - in some areas near radio stations or transmitters radio signals would interfere with the frequency of your alarm system, rendering your remote useless at times. I noticed some areas like - Ortigas area - near the Strata buildings and the Podium open parking. Most of the time, the alarm system would not respond to the remote openers, you'd have to go around the vehicle trying to find the sweet spot, if you are unlucky enough, you might not find one. It all depends on readio frequency of your alarm systems, some systems would have problems in certain areas while others do not.

If you have problems with delays in your remote opener, better have it checked by the dealership.

the alarms could be readjusted to your liking. it's in the manual of the car alarm system. you could have it in silent mode when arming or disarming, change it to chirp or beep sound if you wish. maybe your alarms were set at silent modes. the alarm has lot's of features to disable or enable as you wish. just follow the manual or maybe ask your dealer. some agents though don't know how to configure the alarms. i think the alarm is by code alarm. it uses your horn instead of a siren. look for the reset switch or ask for the dealer. this is used when configuring the alarm or when resetting when the alarm is trigerred or when your batteries are weak to use.

Regarding the override switch, the installer may put the switch anywhere, they should have shown you where they installed the switch. They usually put the switch somewhere on the kick panel near your clutch pedal. Sometimes they put the switch somewhere near the steering column. In my case, it's near the pedal.

The 4x4 version of our ride has the door courtesy lights operational, the 4x2 variants have an empty red lens. I inquired with my dealer about having it activated, I think it would cost a little over Php1k for the wiring, sockets and bulbs as well as the labor for the installation.

I hope you could join us at the Tucson club, I posted the link to the yahoo group somewhere down this thread.

code alarm ata talaga just can't remember. my sisters tucs were ther first few units that arrived in the country. we ordered it even before hari was planning to bring it here. so pag labas pa lang ng tucs, the first unit to arrive at hyundai dagupan was delivered to my sister. it's a 4x4 crdi. at first it was in a silent mode or a chirp mode with auto locking after closing all doors. i looked at the manual and reset it to a beep mode for arming and auto lock only after the car goes forward and unlocks after switching engine off. i tried different configurations til what my sister wanted. i think the reset or override switch is near the steering column.

    Sir Glock,
am very interested in getting those red courtesy lights on my door activated.

San po yung dealer nyo para I will have mine done there.

    thanks!

    RE: Alarm System
for those in silent mode..try to press the arm button twice..you will hear one short horn sound..this is to confirm that the doors are locked.

    cheers

all diesel will be 1% biodiesel and the target is a mixture of 5% by 2009. hindi ko din nga sure if pwede yun ride ko D4D sa biodiesel. the biodiesel thread said kelangan daw ireset some CRDI engines para pwede sa biodiesel but question is who will do the resetting? can the hyundai casa do it considering that its CBU from korea?

My wife was able to contact Hyundai Alabang. According to them (they called the plant daw). it is okay kung 1% lang ang blend, and they acknowledge that the crdi fuel system is quite sensitive . Di ba sa 2009 e gagawing 5% na yung biodiesel mixture. Just the same, they will have a meeting with their engineers on the 18th to discuss our concerns and they promised to call us after that meeting. Pwede din siguro ninyong kulitin yung inyong mga respective dealers and post here kung ano isasagot nila para more or less e ay idea tayo kung nambobola lang sila sa kanilang mga sagot.
