Just wanted to share my experience in trying to acquire a Tucson. Everything is clean na sa bank, approved, etc. Unit na lang talgaa inaantay. PO has been faxed to dealership, they "said" that a unit was available but they would only release it to me if I would get in house financing and pay an additional premium (bayaran na mga LTO, insurance, etc). Unit would only be released to customers who were willing to abide to their terms. I do understand the position that the Tucson is the "in" automobile but this is just wrong. It's kinda sad how they don't see the impact of this in the long term. Loss in customer sales, more people knowing the brand, etc... I don't know where this will go but I hope Hyundai gets to manage things better, demand and all.

    So sad.

Sorry for venting out... Off to the next dealership or even next brand[/QUOTE]

Mga sir, I reported this to the bank and I believe they reported it to the head office (or kung san man). I got a call hours later from Hyundai after making the complaint and I was told that it wasn't standard etc, etc. for a SA to mention that (though other branches had other rakets.. required reservation kahit may PO, etc.). I told the manager my concerns and also gave feedback regarding the other things I've been hearing. I'm pretty sure this won't reach the extents I want it to reach but hope others don't fall for this type of ploy.

This bad experience made me think of not getting one anymore.. but in the end, walang magawa... ANG GANDA EH. :bounceD:

I first gassed up at 65km and yesterday nagfull tank ako (45.3L) my odometer was at 398km so roughly 7.33km/L. 65% city driving (white plains-makati daily) 35% highway (1 back and forth to Tagaytay).

Greetings fellow Tsikoters/Tucson owners.......I have been averaging 6.2 to 6.5 km/liter (City driving, normal traffic), since I got my 2.0L GLS A/T last December 09, 2009. At the SLEX, I got 8.56 km/liter.........hataw! when I tested it for a a speed limiter. I went as fast as 180kph........and cruising speeds of 100 to 130kph.

E-machine has been averaging 8 to a high of 10 km/liter - city driving. According to him he observes the 2k rpm limit...... . I believe, the reasons for my low FC are the ff:

    1. My average daily run is 4 km from my house to my place of work with a lot of stops and corners.......ergo..... the engine/transmission does not have the chance to shift to a higher gear.....palagay ko hanggang 3rd to 4th gear lang sya......most of the time.

    2. I don't observe the 2k rpm limit...... he he he......

I used to get 6.5km also with my 1.8S A/T Honda Civic with the same driving style.......thus, for a 2.0 liter engine and a bigger body, the tucson isn't bad at all.......and oh yes! I enjoy driving the Tucson a lot better than the Civic!

I usually abide by the max 2200 rpm rule also pero sabi sa manual for the first 1000km keep it between 2000-4000rpm raw eh. also i usually observe the let the car idle for 2-5mins before turning off the engine pero sabi rin sa manual during the first 1k km dont let it idle for more than 3mins. peculiar yung rules eh pero sinusunod ko narin muna. will let you know if my fc changes once i break the 1000km mark.

I just want to share my experience with my Tucson (M/T). A couple of weeks ago I noticed some clanking noise somewhere in the back somewhere directly from the shocks from the rear. So I decided to bring it to the Hyundai Manila Bay. They said they just need to tightened all the screws and after some test drive it was gone.

But after a couple of days after I was starting to hear it again, the problem is even when I'm driving in a flat road you will still hear the clanking sound. So again I brought it again to the dealer and informed the manager to better fix the problem, I dont care if how long it would take just as long as they find the root cause. That was a tuesday when I taken it to the casa then it was finally fixed on a saturday. The ROOT CAUSE of the problem was the STABALIZING JOINT they say which was causing the clanking sound. They had to replace the assemble and had it brought to HARI. They said the joint was WEAK, so it was then going to be send back to KOREA (as they claimed) for analysis.

They said it was the first ever reported incided case, know I just don't know if we have the same issue. I suggest you bring this to your dealer then have it fixed and analyzed.
