Lui - how does this switch work?
AFAIK, when the switch is engaged the 4wd system does not go to front wheel drive mode.
Or it could also be like the Escape's where engaging the switch only makes for earlier engagement.![]()

Kind of a loud thud. It really sounded like you hitting a empty can.. First I thought that it was the drive train or something but grabe naman diba kung yung nga. the idea of having supply pump problems like the fortuner came into mind too with that idea, i really got worried. I did the same thing, played with the stick shift.. sports..auto sports.. but power did not come back. so i had it serviced and they did say turbo clamp nga. but who knows right. the check engine light did not go off naman so i guess it was not detected by the computer. so with your experience, did the problem just go away.. back to normal na yung auto mo. I'm a bit worried now parang there is something more than the turbo now...
Hmm, paano kaya ma-upgrade yung hose clamps? saan meron nabibili nun? yung Screw type sana.
Most auto supplies will have different style clamps. Nag-change to screw type na din kami on some old vehicles. If your really want HD clamps for high pressure applications, speedshops/raceshops will have them. Try Speedlab along Quezon Ave.

Naku siguradong sobrang mahal dun. hehhee Wala ba sa Tosuy or something like that?
sir can you direct me where to look/check in the engine this clamp hose?So good for me no major problems. But I'm quite disturbed by this. If we look at our clamps for the hose of the turbo its really a clamp and not the kind of clamp that is tightened by screw. I guess this is one issue that hyundai should look into.
Oldblue when you open the engine it the one sitting on it. That it the turbo right on top. If you check it out, there is a huge tube on it with a black clamp. Thats the hose, but the one that disconnected was the hose below which i could not see. I just took the word of the service crew.
been using the car for almost a week now. weird parang walang nagyari..
I'll see if i can post pics to make things easier to see.
precore_88 - I guess a little to early to start a thread on that unless problems have been really addressed to the casa. but again it could be good to warn owners and potential buyers.
yes sir just look * it this morning. there are 2 visible hoses. one at upper left and one at lower right of the turbo. alin kaya dun sa 2 other ends ng hoses yun natanggal, kasi hindi ko din makita ... baka kasi i'm driving without a turbo eh hehehe. anyway scheduled maint na naman this month.

*OTEP: thanks, matingnan nga. Ok lang po kahit hindi pogi, as long as it works great, under the hood naman e. :D
*Thanks Jeanpierre.
What makes me wonder is WHY it sounded like running over a can (accdg to dinan). Where did that sound came from? Could it be from the Turbine blades?

It could be the clamp itslef as it's rattled freely in the engine bay.

Could be but the cabin of SantaFe is well insulated, it's hard to hear external noise. For a sound like that to be heard, it must be really loud - which i don't think a clamp can. I may be wrong though. ma-check nga bukas.
IF they were the turbine blades, malamang wasak na yun. They are quite delicate. May turbos na nasisira ang blades just after sucking in some pieces of a shop rag.
Sayang walang recording nung sound.

Hmmm, so saan kaya galing yung tunog nakasagasa ng lata ano?
Can sudden disengagement of a Turbocharger lead to destruction of the engine?
