Hi guys, thanks for the tips on the turbo of the santa fe. I checked the manual of our tucson ix which also has the r-series crdi engine (ours is gas but the user's manual also has instructions for the diesel engine). This is what it says:
-------
Starting and stopping the engine for turbocharger intercooler
1. Do not race or accelerate the engine immediately after starting.
2. After high speed or extended driving, requiring a heavy engine load, idle the engine about 1 minute before turning it off.
CAUTION! Do not turn the engine off immediately after it has been subjected to a heavy load. Doing so may cause severe damage to the engine or turbo charger unit.
--------
So i guess you can get away with the 1 minute wait for city driving w/o heavy loads but for high speed or long distance drives and when carrying heavy loads or passenger, it's better to wait for 1 minute before turning the engine off to prevent damage.
Gen. Miting, baka kaya nasira turbo ng starex mo ay dahil sa heavy load (a lot of passengers or heavy cargo) at di nagcool down ang driver even though city driving lang siya ginagamit.
Where can I buy the turbo timer pala?
Sayang wala na speed sensing door locks sa 2010 santa fe. I always forget to lock the doors pa naman. Is there a shop that installs this feature?
Thanks again.![]()
