just watched 24-redemption. the television movie before the start of season 7.
guess what the Santa Fe is there (chauffeuring an embassy guy who makes you think they're in off-road Africa but really now hehehe), the Hyundai Genesis is there (driven by a stock market hot shot guy who tinkers with the lcd system and who later got murdered). Hyundai is a major sponsor in the ending credits.
looks like the new 24 in 2009 will be using more Hyundais as well as Fords.
But even during A/T lagi naman nag shift gear when it reaches 2k RPM? Or do you even shift earlier than that? So far I am impressed with the FC. I have so far totalled 118km on the car (I know mababa since wala pang plate so I use sparingly) and the needle is still so close to the F in the gauge it barely moved....
^^I am not trying to be very scientific and I won't be able to make a scientific conclusion until I get my plates next year.
*tidus: hmm. sobrang tagal ha. We got our plates after 4days. lol.
About your FC, mababa pa yan but you can know it already scientifically by filling it up to the brim again (since full tank ka since day1 right?) - and dapat alam mo yung starting ODO (or if you've used the Trip A or Trip B.).
*parakitoJDM: actually, the new 2.2L CRDI E-VGT of Hyundai is rated at 215ps/461Nm. It's practically the same block as this (only with chain tb and fully computerized turbo). Theoretically, this engine has a lot more to give. ECU Chip alone increases its power to 180-190hp or so. I don't really know much about alcohol injection so i can't comment about it.
*LR: something wrong might have happened. Sana nag-engine protect mode lang. If I am not mistaken, sa SF manual ko ata nabasa yun (that it will not start to prevent damage).
Sinadya ko iparegister next year pa since I want the registration to be 2009 instead of 2008 para mas may leverage in selling later. Every year counts you know![]()
And oh yeah to make it even better heavy traffic pa yung trip ko since ginamit ko sya papunta office from QC to Makati.
i'm not really paying attention these days with the 2km rule nagmura na naman kasi diesel so i'm not really watching the meters
pero mukang consistent pa din naman ang fc ko as the previous month. i got so used to driving in sports mode, naramdaman ko na ang makina kung kelan kailangan mag-shift just like I drive my Honda CRV M/T.
i only shift to AT mode if i buy drive thru Mcdonalds, lalo na pag may sundae kailangan two hands, yun kaliwang hita ko pinag-maintain ko ng manibela![]()
regarding naman dun sa F barely moving, mine moves whenever I reach 50-60km. consistent na ito. since yours is brand new, hindi pa mag-move yan. my car after PMS becomes efficient mag 100km bago move, then next refill balik sa dati.

oo.
pati shift-up (pag over rev ka na).
BTW, normally, the AT shifts around 1,750 rpm
ser "Horsepower", though the basic Engine Block Architecture might be the same i sincerely hope Hyundai did the responsible thing by doing more re-inforcement to all the mechanicals/ internal parts like Block, Valve train, Crank Shaft, etc. i mean turning up the Wick to get an extra 35% more horsepower will induce alot more stress on the engine. so any word fm. HARI which car/suv/cuv will get it first? and by when will it hit our shores?
BTW, its a little O.T. but after the three (3) party talks between Japan, China & Korea as to how to stabilize Asian Economies following US slowdown (ayaw pang tawaging recession). Japan will provide about U$4B & China U$2B loan to Korea. so it just goes to show Korean Companies (car companies included) are also very vulnerable in this Globalize world. not just the US Big 3....
^^OT: Wala naman talagang takas maskin Toyota tinatamaan din. Car companies rely on people to buy their cars if people feel poor or just got laid off or their business closed down tendency is car buying is the first one axed from your spending list. The only difference with the Asian makers and the Detroit 3 is the Asian makers are more cost effective and more flexible while the Detroit 3 has a lot of cost mostly labor and legacy costs for pensioners. There is likely going to be some form of consolidation in the indsutry after this crisis that is for sure.
ser "tidus1203", i'm not talking about a particular car maker. the South Korean economy as a whole is on the verge of near bankruptcy (not very far fm. Iceland case)....
why? too high debt (foreign borrowing in U$) and now their currency is about 30% lower than before so debt servicing is very very tough. plus the economy as a whole is in a mess due to US screw-up.
:police: Guys lets get back to the topic shall we?
Medyo napapalayo na ang usapan...
Thank you for your cooperation...![]()
To get back to topic (sinisita na tayo). I got to use the Santa Fe again today treated my parents and my sister to lunch then went to the malls. Pansin ko ang dami na din may Santa Fe I saw at least 7 today and mine included that would be 8. Popular talagang kulay yung black atsaka yung superior red. I saw one blue and 2 silvers. 3 each for black and superior red (mine included). Total mileage since I bought it 152km, fuel gauge is between 3/4 and F . If it reaches half I will tank up and I will report my findings but it might take awhile since we really don't use it a lot.
