Wasn't able to drain contaminated diesel from my tank, the chief mechanic of Hyundai here simply advised me to dilute the tank with 20 liters of diesel (free of charge from the gasoline station) and bring my SF to them. At first I was hesitant and insisted on draining the tank prior to starting again the engine, however, he said that if contaminated diesel went into my engine, I wouldn't be able to travel that far (approx 5 km) without experiencing engine trouble. Anyway, I was able to bring my SF to the casa (another 4 km run with the contaminated diesel, though this time diluted with 20 liters of diesel) and again my SF ran smoothly and I didn't feel anything wrong.

What they did was just flush out contaminated diesel from the fuel filter (I guess). Hindi nga yata nila naubos lahat, then filled it up again (full tank) with fresh diesel. They test drove it and nothing went wrong. Wala naman ako napansin as far as the power or pull of the engine is concerned, malakas pa rin hatak. The engine sound is still the same. But still, medyo di pa rin ako comfortable, baka anytime magkaproblema engine.

This means that Hyundai CRDi's are really tough diesel engines. Yung layo ng tinakbo mo with a contaminated diesel could mean serious trouble for your engine. Pero in your case, you've given your engine a real test. Buti ok pa din sya.

Sir C190, I am also thinking of the same thing.. drain the tank, kaya lang I was given assurance by hyundai mechanic na ok naman daw yung na drain nila. Initially they also planned to replace the fuel filter, pero di na rin pinalitan kasi ok din naman daw. Hopefully wala naman talaga pumasok sa engine. I've also read from other forums that diesel engines can tolerate up to 60/40 diesel-gas mixtures. Ewan lang kung totoo ito, pero I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I've also heard some local starex owners here mix 1 liter of gas per full tank. Though I know this is not supposed to be done, diesel are for diesel only and gas for gas only, mukang matibay nga crdi engines ng hyundai .

Haha! Mahirap buhay ngayon. Just stick to your current SF CRDi and bring out its potentials... maging unleaded fuel capable. Hahaha! Joke!

i just had mine serviced 20TKM checkup

    tama ba pricing

    2.4K air filter cartridge
1.6K something another air filter tech part

tapos yun next PMS ko according to Hyundai CASA, 3 months.

10w40 c/o migs of speedyfix

IMO mahal talaga maintenance nito, aside from being a SUV, CRDi ang engine nito plus pa yung standard pricing ng casa na mataas, no choice kahit ok pa yung part minsan pinapalitan na kasi by the book sila e

    cge kita kita nalang ulit

i suggest that you should conduct a test drive.

my choice before was between these 3 (captiva, fortuner, santa fe) and i end up with santa fe.
