You can check this out with your sisters SF since mine is gasoline and not diesel. What I noticed with our 2008 Starex, which is VGT, is that it stays on 4th gear. I am running 60-80km/h then when I switch to manual mode its only on 4th. What I'm trying to say is when driving once you hit 60 shift to manual mode and then you can put it to 5th for better FC, or you can just drive it on manual mode.

Many thanks for the info but I already done some driving techniques which I know can improve FC but I still managed the same figures. Do you think there's a problem with my sisters unit?

-when rpm reached 2000,i released my accelerator pedal
-seldom used my brakes- (more braking=more energy used)
-no overtaking..... if possible

Many thanks. The previous tire pressure when we measured the FC was 35psi but the ride is somehow bouncy on some road surfaces so we reduce to 29psi. on 35psi, the maximum FC we’re just obtaining in city is just 7km/l given some driving techniques which I know can improve FC…

Medyo malakas talaga sa diesel si SF lalo na kung City Driving tapos stop and go pa.

Mine can get 7 to 8 kms/L. on pure city driving yan. Usually I drive from Santa Ana to Makati Area. I use Expressway from Quirino Avenue to Buendia then Malugay then Ayala. Daily Route ko yan. Congested roads yang mga yan pag umaga.

On trips na medyo maluwag ang roads, sometimes I get 9kms/L on city driving.

Best FC ko with my SF was when we went to Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. 13kms/Li
pero ON ung 3rd Row Aircon during the round trip and medyo mabigat dala namin and High RPM driving ako non kasi nagmamadali kami on the way to Ilocos.

This week's FC ko was 6 Kms/L lang. angtraffic kasi palagi sa Ayala / De la Rosa lalo na pag gabi.

Minsan nasa dinadaanan eh. pag always congested, poor talaga ang FC.

Musta naman epek ng Motul full synthetic sa FC mo?

Btw nagpa 15k PMS ako kahapon,semi synthetic lang pinalagay ko,mas type ko yung change oil every 5k kesa 10k....at di ako familiar sa full synthetic brand na available sa Casa.

Ok naman Sir. nasa 11,200 kms na si SF ko.

Ang masasabi ko is medyo slippery ung engine since nag-motul ako.
Madulas sya kasi parang angbilis tumaas ng RPM.

Ung sa FC ko, lately parang nasa 7 to 8. Pero for the last 2 to 3 weeks kasi bahay-ofis-bahay byahe ni SF. Di pa nagiinit ung engine, nasa ofis na ko. lapit lang kasi. I think malakas FC pag frequent start-stop ng engine. Tapos traffic pa sa Ayala lalo na pag gabi.

I did remember one time na nag almost 10km/L ako moving around the metro. On that one, di ko sya gano dinadala sa Office pero may mga lakad kami on weekends within Metro.

Pag la gano benefits tong Synthetic, balik na lang ako sa Mineral on my 20kPMS.

lapit na pala anniv mo, ako sa Oct, di naman maselan ang underchassis basta dun sa di masyadong malakas ang pressure para di matuklap ang undercoats at paints.

DIY lang at garden hose gamit ko,sa ibang car wash over ang pressure-baka matanggal rustproofing ko(Ziebart)

I just noticed something weird with my airconditioning. Diba kapag malamig, inaadjust natin yung thermostat clockwise para magbago ang temperature. Ang napansin ko lang minsan when I adjust kahit konti lang kapag gusto ko lumamig or uminit, biglang nag he-heater sa init ni hindi naman umaabot dun sa red mark! Dun lang naman ako lagi nag-aadjust sa blue colored side.

YIKES!!!

Ginagawa ko tuloy pinapatay ko then binubuksan ko ulit. Ayun lo and behold, malamig na ulit! Bakit kaya ganun? I called up the casa na nga para mapa-check ko na next week. Thrice na siguro nangyari sa akin ito.

nagpa 5k pms n rin me last sat aug 9, 08. i use motul fully synthetic oil yun ung offer ng casa naka php5,200 ako pero dapat php5,700 kasi may 500 discount ako because of the free discount card. i notice mas maganda hatak nya kesa sa ordinary oil kasi i use ordinary oil before kasi para makatipid pero this time i will use fully synthetic oil na kasi worth naman kahit expensive sya. nagimprove yung performance&parang gumaan sya lalo, mas ok syang gamitin now!casa ko abad santos.

may turbo timer ba mga maganda nyong santa fe? may nagsabi kasi sa kin na maglagay daw ako para maalagan yung turbo nung santa fe dapat daw kasi 3min idle before off yung engine, prob kasi minsan nagmamadali ako di ko na nagagawa yun. ask ko lang kung how much yung ganun? kasi php6,000 yung napagtanungan ko sa winterpine araneta & advisable bang magpurchased nun? thanks!

Sinama ko po kase yun sa insurance ko.

Wala po ata sila nung ZERO participation. How I wish meron...
