    Latest feedback from Abad santos..

Ayaw daw pumayag ng HARI ireplace yung headlight IF NAWAWALA NAMAN DAW ANG MOISTURE after a few hours....

They will replace only if nag-overnight ang moisture sa headlights namin.... WTF!!

anyway, I'll try to contact you na lang sir C190 later on your advice... Thanks...

Guys, I just had my 10k PMS 3 weeks ago, and I noticed that my fuel consumption dropped from an average 10.6k/li to 9.4-10k/li . Ano kaya ang possible reason(s)? No change in my route, driving techniques, and tire pressure.

    WBR,
Not to discourage you or to condone HARI's obstinate and reticent behavior....

    But....

Usually, this (the appearance of moisture) is quite normal for newer vehicles with plastic headlights lens. It occurs once in a while on our 2006 CRV 2.0 and 2006 Fortuner. I have also seen this on some vehicles being tested by Top Gear, which incidentally included a 2005-06 CRV 2.4li among others.

The "moisture" is more likely to occur during rainy conditions, esp. if you used the headlights. Or even sometimes the engine heat gets inside the headlight assembly. The cooler outside temperature and the higher inside temperature bodes well to create condensation, albeit, a temporary one.

Unless, there are large beads of water forming inside or the moisture doesn't seem to disappear after a few hours (3 to 4 hrs) then is really no cause for worry.

Toyota indicated something like this in their manual. Nevertheless, I wanted to have my Fort's pair of headlights replaced under warranty and luckily the Toyota dealer that I brought my unit to didn't know anything about the "warning" indicated in the manual. However, they didn't replace it immediately though, just the lens first, "daw". Had to go back the second time with pictures this time, before they replaced it with a brand new pair of headlights. Btw, the moisture still does occur once in while but to a much lesser extent than before.

    WBR,
Good day Sir Innova Boy. Nung nabanga po yung right side headlight assy ko three months ago, pinapalitan ko yung buong assy sa insurance. Casa installed a new and complete headlight assy. The day after, I noticed a lot of moisture inside the lens. It was really ugly. Hindi siya nawawala. My suspicion is that the new headlight assy got exposed to moisture and temperature cycling during storage or shipment. Sa inis ko, nagexperiment ako with some household items and to my amazement, it worked! Here’s what I did. I got my wife’s hairdryer and set it to medium hot. I taped a half inch x 1 foot plastic clear hose sa nozzle ng dryer. I then opened the caps for the bulb connections found at the rear of the headlight assy and inserted the hose there. I then pumped hot air sparingly through those openings. Right before my eyes the moisture started to disappear. In about 10 minutes of blasting hot air, all the moisture was gone and never to return. Remember to close those caps tightly afterwards. Hanggang ngayon crystal clear pa rin ang headlight assy. Try it. I hope it solves your problem. Enjoy the ride and drive safely po.

Good day po Sir! Honestly, I would suggest that you inform your CASA about the recurrence of the moisture build-up on your headlights and insist on having it replaced. Show them the pictures that you took and tell them na paulit-ulit na nagkaka-moisture na. If they still don't want to take action, go direct na to HARI. Kase naman diba po, you are not getting your money's worth pag ganyan. Lagi kayo nag-aalala baka isang araw na lang hindi na umilaw yung headlight dahil sa moisture build-up or di kaya tuluyan nang pumasok ang tubig sa loob.

When I got my SF the first time, nagkaron din ng moisture build-up sa right tail light. I immediately called the attention of my SA. She told me to get pictures of the moisture so that they can report it to management. She said, if the moisture persists, they will replace the tail lights no questions asked, ASAP. Pero awa ng Dyos, hindi naman umulit na yung moisture kahit na nagpapa detailing man ako or carwash up until today.

Yon last warranty service namin e mismong HARI tech na ang gumawa e.

    WBR,

Yes Sir! Ganyan din po yung nagyari sakin. Bagong kabit po yun na right headlight assy. Next day may moisture na ganyan. Up to now sir wala na pung moisture. 3 months na po. Hindi na bumalik. I-try nyo po yung suggestion ko at obserbahan po ninyo. wala namang po mawawala. kung bumalik po baka may opening sa seals at nakakapasok ang moisture esp kung high pressure washing. Good luck po!

Gud day to all SF owners!
Just want to share with you guys my big problem. My diesel SF was pumped with gasoline just tonight. The problem is I didn't know it till I got home when I checked on the receipt. My fuel tank was almost empty when I went to the gas station. Siguro I was able to travel 5 kms pa from the station to my house. I didn't feel anything wrong when I was driving home. Any inputs on this guys?

I already informed the gasoline station, but the thing is we can't get sample from the fuel tank. Wala pala drainage opening tank SF. Wala rin kami makuha tubing to suction gas from the tank (already 930pm wala na mabilihan). I was thinking of the fuel filter, baka dun pa lang malaman na kung may gasoline na pumasok sa engine. Anyway, hope nothing serious happens to my SF. Do you think this thing is covered by the warranty and/or insurance? Although nag-commit naman gas station that they will shoulder everything, yun nga lang malaking abala. Will inform my CASA about this in the morning. Haay...

baka po diesel ang na-ikarga mali lang yung receipt na naibigay...CRDi's are very sensitive.. 99% kung may gas na nailagay dyan eh siguradong magbabago ang takbo nyan

I suggest you do not use your SF and fully drain your gas tank... then fill it up with enough diesel to get you to the gas station...

    Thanks yapoy and stafeyer.
I think it was really gas. I remember the pump that was used and it is gas when I checked it again. And the smell of the fuel tank cap, its gasoline!!!! Yes, I think the best thing to do is to drain the tank and fuel system and hopefully nothing goes wrong with the engine. Keep you updated what happens next.
Lesson learned: Tell the gasoline boy/girl what fuel to pump in. Never rely on them to read what was written on your fuel cap/lid. And watch them while they are filling up, para sigurado kung tama ikinakarga nila.

Gud evening po sa inyo. Was able to bring my SF to the casa this afternoon after filling my gas tank with 20 liters of diesel. Wasn't able to drain contaminated diesel from my tank, the chief mechanic of Hyundai here simply advised me to dilute the tank with 20 liters of diesel (free of charge from the gasoline station) and bring my SF to them. At first I was hesitant and insisted on draining the tank prior to starting again the engine, however, he said that if contaminated diesel went into my engine, I wouldn't be able to travel that far (approx 5 km) without experiencing engine trouble. Anyway, I was able to bring my SF to the casa (another 4 km run with the contaminated diesel, though this time diluted with 20 liters of diesel) and again my SF ran smoothly and I didn't feel anything wrong.

What they did was just flush out contaminated diesel from the fuel filter (I guess). Hindi nga yata nila naubos lahat, then filled it up again (full tank) with fresh diesel. They test drove it and nothing went wrong. Wala naman ako napansin as far as the power or pull of the engine is concerned, malakas pa rin hatak. The engine sound is still the same. But still, medyo di pa rin ako comfortable, baka anytime magkaproblema engine.
